The Value Of Peace In A World Filled With Reactions Like Silence And Arguments.
What is the value of Peace in a world that is in a state of constant change? A world where the level of chaos and turmoil increases? A world where, we don’t know what will happen when we wake up the next day?
In such a world, is peace a product or is it a substrate? I personally think Peace is the link joining substrates to products. What do I mean?
Substrates in a reaction can include pain, grief, confusion, misunderstandings and these can lead to products like Joy, love, happiness, goodness, faith, hope, life, prosperity.
However what the end-product is depends on what happens during the reactions. And this is where PEACE comes in.
The value of peace is not dependent on the substrates or products but rather it is what peace can do for one as reactions occur around or with in us.
Without any reaction, you can’t really feel or experience the value and in extrapolation the quality of peace.
Therefore, peace needs a reaction for it’s value to be recognized.
The reaction can be words.
The reaction can be silence.
Peace is not passive. It’s a palpable and active entity.
Silence and arguments are both reactions. Now, the value of the reaction will not depend on the substrates but what has produced afterward.
Take an example of the alter ego analogy.
Anger is active sadness and sadness is passive anger. The same way water can be solid, liquid or vapor. Same things just different forms.
So is silence and arguing:
Silence is fighting without saying words. Arguing is fighting using words.
Are there no times people are silent but they lack inner peace?
In the same vein, are there no times people are talkative but lack inner peace?
Therefore the value of silence or argument will be dependent on what is produced afterwards.
If say love, joy, hope, faith, righteousness is produced after a reaction, then that reaction has great quality. If on the other hand, the reaction produces confusion, pain, suffering, poverty and death, then that reaction has low quality.
Pondering these things can thus make one understand what Jesus was saying when he spoke these words.
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Who is steering the boat in your mind and life?
Is it you? Is it your friends? Is it the world? Is it your family? Is it your ego? Is it your circumstance? Or is it the Holy Spirit?
Who is driving you and your life? Who is driving world events as we witness them?
And could that be the reason for the lack of peace the world is experiencing?
The world refusing Jesus and his Holy Spirit and Lordship in governing our Earth and World?
Jesus is the prince of peace. If we don’t allow him to govern our life, our choices and the world, then we shall not have peace.
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
Those picking fights with others using words or those refusing to engage and choosing silence as a weapon to fight with, the real question you should all be asking is where is your action coming from?
Is it from a pure place or from a place of evil and control?
