What Valentine’s Day Should Mean To Christian Believers

It can be very tempting to get swept with the worldly pressures that valentine’s day comes with and to forget the true message that underlies the holiday!

And it’s a simple but very powerful message.

It’s the message of True Love! Eternal Love that never fail.

The Apostle Paul succinctly and powerfully tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 what True Love is about.

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

Below, A Fewox who has a wonderful Blog at Fewox where he blogs on often difficult topics that few people are willing to speak about, writes about Valentine’s Day and what it should mean to Christians.

On Valentines Day coming up real soon, we must ask ourselves, What is a “whoremonger” according to God’s Word, The Holy Bible ?

There is a huge difference between love and lust. Most folks in the world speak of love, when in reality, they are speaking of lust. This love vs lust is verifiable, not only statistically but also, in reality.

Lots of lust, sexual immorality being committed every day in this world, especially on Valentines Day where this sinful behavior is multiplied and seems to be the goal of most.

Just look around at all the divorce and re-marriage going on around us. The Bible speaks of the marriage bed as being undefiled. A man and woman who are married are free to enjoy the sexual relationship between each other as God has designed for man and wife, Adam and Eve, NOT ADAM AND STEVE!

26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 17:26-30

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Walk in Light
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

If You Find Yourself Alone Or Lonely I Hope You Are Met By Love

If You Find Yourself Alone Or Lonely I Hope You Are Met By Love Blog Post Banner Image

Valentine’s day comes every year on February 14th.

Some people are blessed to have a partner, spouse, friends and family to celebrate with.

Others find themselves lonely or alone during this time.

For the lonely and alone, I pray you run to Jesus when you are feeling unloved, alone, lonely, uncared for or rejected.

The arms of Jesus are open wide to give you the love you desperately need and are searching for.

So, on this day, I send out love, light, hope, faith and prayers to all those who are alone, hurting, lonely and those searching for true love.

Jesus is true love!

And if you need proof of his love for you, just look to his cross.

His cross is awash with immeasurable words like:

You matter

You are loved

You are worthy

You are precious

You are awesome

You are beautiful

You are handsome

You are cherished

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:7-11

I dedicate United Pursuit’s Song, Met By Love:

There is none, none like You
Who can know my heart like You do?
For all creation sings Your song
I will join with them, Declaring Your glory

There is none, none like You
Who can know my heart like You do?
For all creation sings Your song
I will join with them, declaring Your glory

We can run straight into Your arms, unafraid
‘Cause every time we need You, we’re met by love
And we can lift our hands to Heaven, full of faith
‘Cause every time we worship, we see Your face

We see Your face
We see Your face
We see Your face
We see Your face

There is no one like You, Lord
You, Lord
Oh, there is no one like You, Lord
