Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“The law never came to save men. It came on purpose to make the evidence complete that salvation by works is impossible, and thus to drive the elect of God to rely wholly on the finished salvation of the gospel.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“If the Lord’s bearing our sin for us is not the gospel, I have no gospel to preach.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Jesus is the Truth. We believe in Him, —not merely in His words. He Himself is Doctor and Doctrine, Revealer and Revelation, the Illuminator and the Light of Men. He is exalted in every word of truth, because He is its sum and substance. He sits above the gospel, like a prince on His own throne.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“The hearing of the gospel involves the hearer in responsibility. It is a great privilege to hear the gospel. You may smile and think there is nothing very great in it.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“We have an unchanging gospel, which is not today green grass and tomorrow dry hay; but always the abiding truth of the immutable Jehovah.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Do not suppose that the Gospel is magnified or God glorified by going to the worldlings and telling them that they may be saved at this moment by simply accepting Christ as their Savior, while they are wedded to their idols, and their hearts are still in love with sin. If I do so I tell them a lie, pervert the Gospel , insult Christ, and turn the grace of God into lasciviousness.”

“Avoid a sugared gospel as you would shun sugar of lead.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“On Christ, and what he has done, my soul hangs for time and eternity. And if your soul also hangs there, it will be saved as surely as mine shall be. I must do so, for I have nothing else to rely upon but the fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived, died, was buried, rose again, went to heaven, and still lives and pleads for sinners at the right hand of God.”

Jehovah Tsidkenu – The Lord Our Righteousness. We don’t have any righteousness of our own as believers. Our righteousness comes through faith by believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection. It’s not about what we do or don’t do. It’s about what Jesus already did for us. And we can have a sure confidence in the work of Jesus.

The righteousness of God never fails to protect us from enemies and the tricks of the devil because it is pure and holy.

But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back._ 39. But we do not belong to those who shrink 3

Our righteousness on the other hand is as filthy rugs and exposes us to enemies. Let’s learn to lean on God and trust his righteousness. We can then be able to walk confidently, safe in the knowledge that Jesus is our righteousness and because he has us, we won’t be able to shrink back, backslide or lose our way. We can be sure of heaven and prosperity when we have Jesus as our righteousness.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36. You need to persevere so that when 2

In the current age in which we live, people often expect quick fixes and quick answers. Most people are impatient. And thanks to technological advancement, life has become faster and we can now get things more quickly thanks to microwaves, heaters, driers, dryers, dishwashers etc.

House chores are not as burdensome as they used to be. Transportation is faster with airplanes, fast trains and cars.  If you need quick love and sex, there are numerous websites and services that offer that. We love speed and we have access to it.

And yet not everything in life is easy to come by.

For example:

  • •Some couples take years before getting children.
  • •Some investments take years to grow before yielding.
  • •A quality education takes decades.
  • •Building a great career can take years.
  • •Getting your first house or car may take months or years etc.
  • •Some diseases and sicknesses take months or even years before cure.

There are promises that God has made to us as believers. And some of us have waited for years with no signs of answers. The Bible verse above is encouraging us to hold on and never give up.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God 3
  • Keep fasting.
  • Keep praying.
  • Keep doing good.
  • Keep obeying God.
  • Keep running the race of faith.
  • Keep giving your tithe and offering.
  • Keep giving to those who are less privileged than you are.
  • Keep serving those around you who need your assistance.

Despite the persecution and trials please don’t let go of your faith. Your services and sacrifices are not in vain.

The promises of God are yes and amen. In due time he will reward you. At the right moment he will open the doors that need to be opened. Just keep holding on and never give up. Jesus never fails.

For we know him who said, _It is mine to avenge; I will repay,_ and again, _The Lord will judge his people._ Hebrews 10_ 30. Bible Verse Social Media Square Image 3

When people hurt us or take advantage of us, it is an easy trap to feel the urge to pay them back for their sins.

For example:

1. A spouse cheats and the other spouse cheats back to show the first spouse just how painful their betrayal felt.

2. You are harassed by a bully and your first instinct is to harass the bully back to show them that they have no power over you.

3. You loan someone money and they fail to pay back. To show them how painful their actions were you decide to take some of their own property as compensation.

For we know him who said, _It is mine to avenge; I will repay,_ and again, _The Lord will judge his people._ Hebrews 10_ 30. Bible Verse Social Media Square Image 1

The examples for instances where we are tempted to take revenge abound. It’s a weakness of our fleshy bodies. Its very tempting to want to show our oppressors that we have power and might and it’s sadly an easy trap to fall into too. And yet the Bible Verse above is reminding us to put our ego aside and leave it to God.  Scripture is encouraging us to trust God and his methods for payback over our own.

And the truth is we can trust God to restore everything taken from us by the enemy.

Whether those things are intangible goods like love, health, joy, laughter, freedom or tangible things like money, property and possessions.

We can trust Jesus because his methods for restoration are much better than ours and his ways are higher than ours. Are you going through the pain of betrayal, hurt, loss and grief?

Do you feel like taking matters into your own hands and avenging? Please don’t. Instead cast all your cares unto Jesus and he will deal with the situation.

Bible Verse Reading:

“If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27. but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”

Hebrews 10: 26 -27

Reflections And Lessons:

The gospel of punishment for sin, judgement and hell is not a popular one. It is a gospel many people don’t want to hear because it makes them uncomfortable. Unfortunately it is also a gospel that many people have grown indifferent to. Yet despite our reservations towards speaking about sin, judgement, punishment and hell, it is the gospel of truth.

It is a message even Jesus preached and taught.

Many times we take God for granted. Because of his great mercies, patience and kindness we forget that we serve a holy God who hates sin.

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27. but only a fearful expectation of judgment 3

The price Jesus paid for our sins is too great for us to keep on sinning. It is an insult to his sacrifice paid on the cross.

As we go about our daily lives and as we run the journey of  faith, let us not fall into the trap that sin sets. A trap of fleeting pleasures. Let us continually remember that we serve a Holy God and let us worship and honor him by living sinless and righteousness lives. It is possible.

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27. but only a fearful expectation of judgment 1

Reflections And Lessons:

Let’s admit it. Sometimes life gets really busy. If you have a job and a family with children for example, the work and bills can pile up.

Recent statistics show that fewer and fewer people are going to church.

Cathedrals and traditional churches are becoming empty. Some say it is because many people are losing their faith. But another explanation could be that people are just busier. Despite the reasons given, it’s important to stay in fellowship.

Fellowship with other believers helps to build our faith, offers encouragement, motivation and inspiration to keep running the race of faith. With increased persecution of believers, having a fellowship and prayer group helps believers to stay strong.

Fellowships can also be a great avenue to help others who might be struggling and in need of our services. Simply put, fellowships are great places for service and discipleship.

With the increase in technological advancements and the internet, we can’t really have an excuse for not staying in fellowship with our brethren during this modern age.

So as a believer in Jesus who wants to build their faith, serve others and stay connected how can you keep in fellowship despite a tight schedule?

Here are a few ideas:

1. There are various online churches these days. You have an opportunity to attend church without leaving your house.

2. You can listen to sermons and teachings on radio stations, podcasts and youtube where videos are continually being produced and uploaded.

3. You can buy a video or audio tape and listen to it while driving, at home, at the park or anywhere you get an opportunity and chance.

4. With the advent of PayPal and Visa, you can give your tithe and offering online and serve those who are less fortunate than you.

5. There are thousands of books, devotionals and other resources online that you can get to enrich your spiritual life.

6. With the advent of social media you can join prayer groups, activity groups and various spiritual and faith based clubs where you can share your faith with other believers all over the world.

Despite the various changes in our world and landscape, Apostle Paul’s encouragement is still valid even in this modern age.

Please let’s not give up the habit of fellowship, meeting together, encouraging each other and sharing our faith.

Reflections And Lessons:

It’s often easy to love those who love us. It’s easy to reciprocate requited love. But what about loving those who are difficult to love?

How can we spur each other to love people who are just difficult to love?

Those who are prickly and tend to spun our love when we give it to them?

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10_ 24 Bible Verse Social Media Square Image 3

Below are a few ways we can consider:

1. We can pray for them and whatever needs they have.

2. We can ask the Holy spirit to soften their hearts and make them receptive to love.

3. We can forgive them when they hurt us instead of choosing to hold a grudge.

4. We can fast for them.

5. We can keep the doors of our hearts open to them instead of shutting them out.

6. We can patiently wait for them to change and become better.

7. We can tithe on their behalf as we stand in the gap for them.

8. We can keep offering our help and love in places they lack.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10_ 24 Bible Verse Social Media Square Image 1

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Is It True That The Bible Is The Word Of God – Spiritual Reading.

The thing that the Bible teaches concerning the extent of the inspiration of its writings is that because of this inspiration of Prophets and Apostles, the writers of the Bible, the whole Bible as originally given becomes the absolutely inerrant Word of God.

In the O. T. David says of his own writings, in 2 Sam. 23:2, a passage already referred to, “The Spirit of Jehovah spake by me, and His Word was upon my tongue.” In Mark 7:13 Our Lord Jesus Himself calls the law of Moses “the Word of God.” He says “making void the Word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered.”

In the verses immediately preceding, He has been drawing a contrast between the teachings of the Mosaic law (not merely the teachings of the Ten Commandments, but other parts of the Mosaic law as well) and the traditions of the Scribes and Pharisees, and has shown how the traditions of the Scribes and Pharisees flatly contradicted the requirements of the law as given through Moses, and in summing up the matter he says in the verse just quoted, that the Scribes and Pharisees made void “the Word of God” by their traditions, thus calling the law of Moses “the Word of God.”

When I was in England a high dignitary and scholar in the Church of England in a private correspondence tried to call me down by saying that the Bible nowhere claimed to be “the Word of God,” but I replied to him by showing [him that not only did the Bible claim it, but that the Lord Jesus Himself said in so many words that the law given through Moses was “the Word of God.”

In 1 Thess. 2:13 the Apostle Paul claims that his own epistles and teachings are “the Word of God.” He says: “And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that when ye received from us the word of the message, even the word of God, ye accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.”

Here the Apostle Paul claims for his own teaching in the most absolute way that the message that he gave was “the Word of God.” When we read the words that Jeremiah wrote and Isaiah wrote and Paul wrote and John wrote and James wrote and Jude wrote and the other Bible writers wrote, we are reading what God says.

We are not listening to the voice of man, but we are listening to the voice of God. “The Word of God” which we have in the Old and New Testaments, as originally given, is absolutely inerrant down to the smallest word and smallest letter or part of a letter. Our Lord Jesus Himself says of the Pentateuch in Matt. 5:18: “For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law till all things be accomplished.”

Now a “jot” is the Hebrew character “yodh,” the smallest character in the Hebrew alphabet, less than half the size of any other letter in the Hebrew alphabet, and a “tittle” is a part of a letter, the little horn put on some of the Hebrew consonants, less than the cross we put on a “t,” and here our Lord says that the law given through Moses was absolutely inerrant, down to its smallest letter or part of a letter.

That certainly is verbal inspiration with a vengeance. Again he said, as recorded in John 10:35, after having quoted from the 82nd Psalm and the 6th verse, as conclusive proof of a point, “The Scripture CANNOT BE BROKEN,” thus asserting the absolute irrefragability or inerrancy and finality of the Scriptures. If the Scriptures as originally given were not the inerrant Word of God, then not only is the Bible a fraud, but Jesus Christ Himself was utterly misled and is therefore utterly unreliable as a teacher.

I have said that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given were absolutely inerrant, and the question of course arises to what extent is the Authorized Version, or the Revised Version, the inerrant Word of God. The answer is simple; they are the inerrant Word of God just to that extent that they are an accurate rendering of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given, and to all practical intents and purposes they are a thoroughly accurate rendering of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given.

There are, it is true, many variations in the many manuscripts we possess, thousands of variations, but by a careful study of these very variations, we are able to find with marvellous accuracy what the original manuscripts said. A very large share of the variations are of no value whatever, as it is evident from a comparison of different manuscripts that they are mistakes of a transcriber.

Many other variations simply concern the order of the words used, and in translating into English, in which the order of words is often different from what it is in the Greek, the variation is not translatable. Many other variations are of small Greek particles, many of which are not translatable into English any way.

When all the variations of any significance have been reduced to the minimum to which it is possible to reduce them by a careful study of manuscripts, there is not one single variation left that affects any doctrine held by the evangelical churches, and the Scriptures as we have them to-day translated into our English language, either in the A. V. or R. V., are to all practical intents and purposes the inerrant Word of God.

Prayer Continues In The Desire Of The Heart – Prayer And Devotional Quotes – John Wesley.

“God does nothing but in answer to prayer.”

– John Wesley

“Proceed with much prayer, and your way will be made plain.”

– John Wesley

“Prayer continues in the desire of the heart, though the understanding be employed on outward things.”

– John Wesley

“The neglect of prayer is a grand hindrance to holiness.”

– John Wesley

“Whether we think of; or speak to, God, whether we act or suffer for him, all is prayer, when we have no other object than his love, and the desire of pleasing him.”

– John Wesley

“God’s command to “pray without ceasing’ is founded on the necessity we have of his grace to preserve the life of God in the soul, which can no more subsist one moment without it, than the body can without air.”

 – John Wesley

“To continual watchfulness and prayer ought to be added continual employment. For grace flies a vacuum as well as nature; and the devil fills whatever God does not fill.”

– John Wesley

“In souls filled with love, the desire to please God is continual prayer.”

– John Wesley

“All that a Christian does, even in eating and sleeping, is prayer, when it is done in simplicity, according to the order of God, without either adding to or diminishing from it by his own choice.”

– John Wesley

“Lord, I am no longer my own, but Yours. Put me to what You will, rank me with whom You will. Let be employed by You or laid aside for You, exalted for You or brought low by You. Let me have all things, let me have nothing, I freely and heartily yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You are mine and I am Yours. So be it. Amen.”

“On every occasion of uneasiness, we should retire to prayer, that we may give place to the grace and light of God and then form our resolutions, without being in any pain about what success they may have. In the greatest temptations, a single look to Christ, and the barely pronouncing his name, suffices to overcome the wicked one, so it be done with confidence and calmness of spirit.”

– John Wesley

“God only requires of his adult children, that their hearts be truly purified, and that they offer him continually the wishes and vows that naturally spring from perfect love. For these desires, being the genuine fruits of love, are the most perfect prayers that can spring from it. It is scarce conceivable how strait the way is wherein God leads them that follow him; and how dependent on him we must be, unless we are wanting in our faithfulness to him.”

– John Wesley

“I build on Christ, the rock of ages; on his sure mercies described in his word, and on his promises, all which I know are yea and amen.”

“Prayer is a shield to the soul.”

– John Bunyan

“To pray rightly, you must make God your hope, stay, and all. Right prayer sees nothing substantial or worth being concerned about except God.”

– John Bunyan

“Take heed of driving so hard after this world, as to hinder thyself and family from those duties towards God, which thou art by grace obliged to; as private prayer, reading the scriptures, and Christian conference. It is a base thing for men so to spend themselves and families after this world, as that they disengage their heart to God’s worship.”

– John Bunyan

“Pray often, for prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan.”

– John Bunyan

“It is not the mouth that is the main thing to be looked at in prayer, but whether the heart is so full of affection and earnestness in prayer with God, that it is impossible to express their sense and desire; for then a man desires indeed, when his desires are so strong, many, and mighty, that all the words, tears, and groans that can come from the heart, cannot utter them.”

– John Bunyan

“To-despise the world is the way to enjoy heaven; and blessed are they who delight to converse with God by prayer.”

– John Bunyan

“God speaks once, yea twice, yet Man perceiveth it not, in a Dream, in a Vision of the night, when deep Sleep falleth upon men, in slumbering upon the bed. We need not, when abed, to lie awake to talk with God, he can visit us while we sleep, and cause us then to hear his Voice. Our heart oft-times wakes when we sleep, and God can speak to that, either by words, by proverbs, by signs and similitudes, as well as if one was awake.”

– John Bunyan

“Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.”

– John Bunyan

“In prayer, it is better to have heart without words, than words without heart. Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin entice a man to cease from prayer. The spirit of prayer is more precious than treasures of gold and silver. Pray often, for prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan.”

– John Bunyan

“Prayer is an ordinance of God, that must continue with a soul so long as it is on this side glory.”

– John Bunyan

“A sensible thanksgiving for mercies received is a mighty prayer in the Spirit of God. It prevails with Him unspeakably.”

– John Bunyan

“Sincerity is the same in a corner alone, as it is before the face of the world. It knows not how to wear two vizards, one for an appearance before men, and another for a short snatch in a corner; but it must have God, and be with him in the duty of prayer. It is not lip-labour that it doth regard, for it is the heart that God looks at, and that which sincerity looks at, and that which prayer comes from, if it be that prayer which is accompanied with sincerity.”

My Prayer, My Aim, Is Higher Ground – Prayer And Devotional Quotes – Aiden Wilson Tozer.

“Sometimes I go to God and say, “God, if Thou dost never answer another prayer while I live on this earth, I will still worship Thee as long as I live and in the ages to come for what Thou hast done already. God’s already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn’t pay Him for what He’s done for me.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“My heart has no desire to stay where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where these abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“The believing man does not claim to understand. He falls to his knees and whispers, “God.” The man of earth kneels also, but not to worship. He kneels to examine, to search, to find the cause and the how of things.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“One of the most stinging criticisms made against Christians is that their minds are narrow and their hearts small. This may not be wholly true, but that such a charge can be made at all is sufficient cause for serious heart searching and prayer.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Teach us, O God, that nothing is necessary to Thee. Were anything necessary to Thee that thing would be the measure of Thine imperfection: and how could we worship one who is imperfect? If nothing is necessary to Thee, then no one is necessary, and if no one, then not we. Thou dost seek us though Thou does not need us. We seek Thee because we need Thee, for in Thee we live and move and have our being. Amen.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“God will not compromise and He need not be coaxed. He cannot be persuaded to alter His Word nor talked into answering selfish prayer. In all our efforts to find God, to please Him, to commune with Him, we should remember that all change must be on our part. “I am the Lord, I change not.” We have but to meet His clearly stated terms, bring our lives into accord with His revealed will, and His infinite power will become instantly operative toward us in the manner set forth through the gospel in the Scriptures of truth.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“We are saved to worship God. All that Christ has done in the past and all that He is doing now leads to this one end.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, so that I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, ‘Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away.’ Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Forgiveness, cleansing, regeneration, the Holy Spirit, all answers to prayer, are given to faith and received by faith. There is no other way. This is common evangelical doctrine and is accepted wherever the cross of Christ is understood.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“The God-always-answers-prayer sophistry leaves the praying man without discipline. By the exercise of this bit of smooth casuistry he ignores the necessity to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world, and actually takes God’s flat refusal to answer his prayer as the very answer itself. Of course such a man will not grow in holiness; he will never learn how to wrestle and wait; he will never know correction; he will not hear the voice of God calling him forward; he will never arrive at the place where he is morally and spiritually fit to have his prayers answered. His wrong philosophy has ruined him.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“For myself, I long ago decided that I would rather know the truth than be happy in ignorance. If I can not have both truth and happiness, give me truth. We’ll have a long time to be happy in heaven.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Lord, make me childlike. Deliver me from the urge to compete with another for place or prestige or position. I would be simple and artless as a little child. Deliver me from pose and pretense. Forgive me for thinking of myself. Help me to forget myself and find my true peace in beholding Thee. That Thou mayest answer this prayer I humble myself before Thee. Lay upon me Thy easy yoke of self-forgetfulness that through it I may find rest. Amen.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“If when we come to prayer our hearts feel dull and unspiritual, we should not try to argue ourselves out of it. Rather, we should admit it frankly and pray our way through.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Prayer for revival will prevail when it is accompanied by radical amendment of life; not before. All-night prayer meetings that are not preceded by practical repentance may actually be displeasing to God. “To obey is better than sacrifice.” We must return to New Testament Christianity, not in creed only but in complete manner of life as well. Separation, obedience, humility, simplicity, gravity, self-control, modesty, cross-bearing: these all must again be made a living part of the total Christian concept and be carried out in everyday conduct.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Keep reminding God in our times of private prayer that we mean every act for His glory; then supplement those times by a thousand thought-prayers as we go about the job of living. Let us practice the fine art of making every work a priestly ministration. Let us believe that God is in all our simple deeds and learn to find Him there.”

Aiden Wilson Tozer

“Contemporaries relate that hearing Martin Luther pray was “an experience in theology”. They said the reformer began praying with such humility that he could be pitied, only to proceed with such boldness before God that the human hearer would fear for him.”

Jesus Heal My Wounds – Prayer.

Lord I really do have wounds that need healing.
I have heartaches. I have pains.
In places no one can see.

Sometimes I get really angry.
I don’t justify my actions.

Lord, sin is sin.
Lord anger is anger.
And I struggle with this sometimes.

I have been disappointed by life.
I have been let down by everything.
I have been mistreated by people.

Life has been tough.
And yes Lord.
I do realize this makes blaming others easier.
It makes it easy to convict and pass judgement.
It makes it easy to call people good or bad.

It’s tough Lord.
It’s tough for us all.

But your grace is sufficient.
Your grace will see me to the other side.
Your grace will carry me through.

The world might be dark right now.
Filled with hate and malice.
Full of pain and suffering.

But I’m comforted because I know. That you are in control.

Though we are struggling my sweet Jesus,

I know that you are familiar with our affliction.

Jesus I need you desperately.

Please come and heal my wounds.

Please come and cure my pain.

Pour balm over my crevices and the places that lack.

Thank you for answered prayer.

In the precious name of Jesus.

Bible Verses:

The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.
4 He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.
6 The Lord lifts up the humble;
He casts the wicked down to the ground.

Psalms 147:2-6

For I will restore health to you
And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,
‘Because they called you an outcast saying:
“This is Zion;
No one seeks her.” ’
18 “Thus says the Lord:
‘Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob’s tents,
And have mercy on his dwelling places;
The city shall be built upon its own mound,
And the palace shall remain according to its own plan.

“Prayer should be the natural outflow of the soul: you should pray because you must pray, not because the set time for praying has arrived, but because your heart must cry unto your Lord.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“If God’s mercies came to us unasked, they would not be half so useful as they now are, when they have to be sought for; for now we get a double blessing, a blessing in the obtaining, and a blessing in the seeking. The very act of prayer is a blessing.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Words are not the essence but the garments of prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“To us, at any rate, prayer is no vain thing. We go to our chambers alone, believing that we are transacting high and real business when we pray. We do not bow the knee merely because it is a duty, and a commendable spiritual exercise; but because we believe that, into the ear of the eternal God, we speak our wants, and that His ear is linked with a heart feeling for us, and a hand working on our behalf. To us, true prayer is true power.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“None of us can know how poor we are in comparison with what we might have been if we had lived habitually nearer to God in prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Every place is now God’s temple, and His people can as truly serve Him in their daily employments as in His house. They are to be always “ministering,” offering the spiritual sacrifice of prayer and praise, and presenting themselves a “living sacrifice.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“It must be true prayer, and if it be such, it will, like love, cover a multitude of sins. You can pardon a man’s familiarities and his vulgarities too, when you clearly see that his inmost heart is speaking to his Maker.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“As artists give themselves to their models, and poets to their classical pursuits, so must we addict ourselves to prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Do not, you troubled ones, be looking after angels, and tokens, and evidences, and signs. If you rest on the finished work of Jesus you have already the best evidence of your salvation in the world! You have God’s Word for it—what more is needed? Cannot you take God’s Word? You can take your father’s word. You can take your mother’s word—why cannot you take God’s word? Oh, what base hearts we must have to suspect God Himself!”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Prayer without fervency is like hunting with a dead dog, and prayer without preparation is hawking with a blind falcon.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Prayers are instantly noticed in heaven. The moment Saul began to pray, the Lord heard him. Here is comfort for the distressed but praying soul. When our hearts are broken and we bow in prayer, we are often only able to employ the language of sighs and tears; still our groaning has made all the harps of heaven thrill with music. That tear has been caught by God and treasured in the receptacle of heaven. “Put my tears in your bottle”1 implies that they are caught as they flow.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Prayer is the natural out gushing of a soul in communion with Jesus. Just as the leaf and the fruit will come out of the vine-branch without any conscious effort on the part of the branch, but simply because of its living union with the stem, so prayer buds, and blossoms, and fruits out of souls abiding in Jesus.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“A sleepy prayer–what can make people more dislike going up to the house of God at all? Cast your whole soul into the exercise. If ever your whole manhood was engaged in anything., let it be in drawing near unto God in public.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Prayer bends the omnipotence of heaven to your desire. Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“The best praying man is the man who is most believingly familiar with the promises of God. After all, prayer is nothing but taking God’s promises to him, and saying to him, “Do as thou hast said.” Prayer is the promise utilized. A prayer which is not based on a promise has no true foundation.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“The church must by her varied agencies, efforts, and prayers, make herself ready to be blessed; she must make the pools, and the Lord will fill them.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Have you, dear Friend, who cannot preach, made a point of praying for the pastor of the Church to which you belong? It is a great sin on the part of Church members if they do not daily sustain their pastor by their prayers.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“When you cannot use your sword you may take to the weapon of all-prayer. Your powder may be damp, your bow-string may be relaxed, but the weapon of all-prayer need never be out of order.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“He was very short in prayer when others were present, but every sentence was like a strong bolt shot up to heaven. I have heard him say that he wearied when others were long in prayer; but, being alone, he spent much time in wrestling and prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Let your cares drive you to God. I shall not mind if you have many of them if each one leads you to prayer. If every fret makes you lean more on the Beloved, it will be a benefit.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Not to pray because you do not feel fit to pray is like saying, “I will not take medicine because I am too ill.” Pray for prayer: pray yourself, by the Spirit’s assistance, into a praying frame.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“When we cannot pray as we would, it is good to pray as we can.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“It is a great sin on the part of Church members if they do not daily sustain their pastor by their prayers!”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Leviathan laughs at the javelin, but he trembles at prayer. Sword and spear need furbishing, but prayer never rusts, and when we think it most blunt it cuts the best. Prayer is an open door which none can shut. Devils may surround you on all sides, but the way upward is always open.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer. For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of a worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family altar, and lessen our influence both in the Church and in the world.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Let holy preparation link hands with patient expectation, and we shall have far larger answers to our prayers.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Have we this day grace enough to make trenches into which the divine blessing may flow? Alas! we too often fail in the exhibition of true and practical faith. Let us this day be on the outlook for answers to prayer. As the child who went to a meeting to pray for rain took an umbrella with her, so let us truly and practically expect the Lord to bless us. Let us make the valley full of ditches and expect to see them all filled.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Christ’s mighty prayers are as vocal to God as His daily services. He witnesses under all circumstances.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Try this receipt, O believer, whenever thou art sad of heart and in heaviness of spirit: forget thyself and thy little concerns, and seek the welfare and prosperity of Zion. When thou bendest thy knee in prayer to God, limit not thy petition to the narrow circle of thine own life, tried though it be, but send out thy longing prayers for the church’s prosperity, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” and thine own soul shall be refreshed.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“If God be near a church, it must pray. And if he be not there, one of the first tokens of his absence will be a slothfulness in prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Short prayers are long enough. There were but three words in the petition which Peter gasped out, but they were sufficient for his purpose. Not length but strength is desirable.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Lord teach us to be resigned to Thy will; teach us to delight in Thy law; teach us to have no will but Thy will; teach us to be sure that everything Thou doest is good — is the very best that can be done.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“The minister is not always in the act of prayer, but he is always in the spirit of it.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“This is frequently the position of believers now — they are called to perils and temptations altogether untried: at such seasons let them imitate Jacob’s example by offering sacrifices of prayer unto God, and seeking His direction; let them not take a step until they have waited upon the Lord for His blessing: then they will have Jacob’s companion to be their friend and helper.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Miserable men are we if we miss the aid of your prayers, but happy are we if we live in your supplications.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“A prayerless soul is a Christless soul. Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honour of a Christian. If thou be a child of God, thou wilt seek thy Father’s face, and live in thy Father’s love. Pray that this year thou mayst be holy, humble, zealous, and patient; have closer communion with Christ.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Prayer is the slender nerve that moves the muscle of omnipotence.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“I have now concentrated all my prayers into one, and that one prayer is this, that I may die to self, and live wholly to Him.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Rest assured it is harder to know how to be full than it is to know how to be hungry–so desperate is the tendency of human nature to pride and forgetfulness of God. Take care that you ask in your prayers that God would teach you “how to be full.”  “Let not the gifts thy love bestows.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“We may not make sure that the Lord will at once remove all disease from those we love, but we may know that believing prayer for the sick is far more likely to be followed by restoration than anything else in the world; and where this avails not, we must meekly bow to His will by whom life and death are determined. The tender heart of Jesus waits to hear our griefs, let us pour them into His patient ear.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“If I feel myself disinclined to pray, then is the time when I need to pray more than ever.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Remember how it is written of Job, “The Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.” While he prayed for himself, he remained a captive; but when he prayed for those unfriendly friends of his, then the Lord smiled upon him, and
loosed his captivity.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“The song which thrills to heaven, and seeks to emulate seraphic strains, hath human discords in it. The prayer which moves the arm of God is still a bruised and battered prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honor of a Christian.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Our prayer must always be, ‘Holy Spirit, dwell with me! Holy Spirit, dwell with Your servants!”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication make known your wants unto God.” Cannot you trust God for temporals? “Ah! I wish I could.” If you cannot trust God for temporals, how dare you trust him for spirituals?”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“It is always best to get blessings into our house in the legitimate way, by the door of prayer; then they are blessings indeed, and not temptations.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“PRAISE should always follow answered prayer;”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Do not sit down and try to pump up repentance from the dry well of a corrupt nature. It is contrary to the laws of your mind to suppose that you can force your soul into that gracious state. Take your heart in prayer to Him who understands it and say, “Lord, cleanse it. Lord, renew it. Lord, work repentance in it.” The more you try to produce penitent emotions in yourself, the more you will be disappointed. However, if you believingly think of Jesus dying for you, repentance will burst forth.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Revival begins by Christians getting right first and then spills over into the world.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“We do not forget to eat: we do not forget to take the shop shutters down: we do not forget to be diligent in business: we do not forget to go to our beds to rest: but we often do forget to wrestle with God in prayer, and to spend, as we ought to spend, long periods in consecrated fellowship with our Father and our God.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“If you can trust Him with your soul, you must of necessity trust Him with your prayers!”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“For my own part, my constant prayer is that I may know the worst of my case, whatever the knowledge may cost me. I know that an accurate estimate of my own heart can never be otherwise than lowering to my self-esteem; but God forbid that I should be spared the humiliation which springs from the truth! The sweet red apples of self-esteem are deadly poison; who would wish to be destroyed thereby? The bitter fruits of self-knowledge are always healthful, especially if washed down with the waters of repentance, and sweetened with a draught from the wells of salvation; he who loves his own soul will not despise them.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“When you plead the name of Christ, you plead that which shakes the gates of hell and that which the hosts of heaven obey, and God Himself feels the sacred power of that divine plea.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“The Christian should work as if all depended upon him, and pray as if it all depended upon God.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Whether it be prayer or praise, whether it be work or suffering, the genuine salt of humility cannot be used in excess.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Thoughts and reasonings are like the steel wedges which give a hold upon truth; but prayer is the lever, the prise which forces open the iron chest of sacred mystery, that we may get the treasure hidden within.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Private prayer is the drill ground for our more public exercises, neither can we long neglect it without being out of order when before the people.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Keep the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all piety. The altars of church and family borrow their fires from here, so let this one burn well. Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer of vital, experiential religion.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“If we cannot prevail with men for God, we will at least endeavor to prevail with God for men.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Will you not this day make it your prayer? “Lord, help me to glorify Thee; I am poor, help me to glorify Thee by contentment; I am sick, help me to give Thee honour by patience; I have talents, help me to extol Thee by spending them for Thee; I have time, Lord, help me to redeem it, that I may serve Thee; I have a heart to feel, Lord, let that heart feel no love but Thine, and glow with no flame but affection for Thee; I have a head to think, Lord, help me to think of Thee and for Thee; Thou hast put me in this world for something, Lord, show me what that is, and help me to work out my life-purpose.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“The very precariousness of weather excites a large amount of earnest prayer.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Spare neither labor in the study, prayer in the closet, nor zeal in the pulpit. If men do not judge their souls to be worth a thought, compel them to see that their minister is of a vex], different opinion.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“The seed of acceptable devotion must come from heaven’s storehouse. Only the prayer which comes from God can go to God.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“This is a large petition. To intercede for a whole city needs a stretch  of faith, and there are times when a prayer for one man is enough to  stagger us. But how far-reaching was the psalmist’s dying intercession!  How comprehensive! How sublime! “Let the whole earth be filled with his  glory.” It doth not exempt a single country however crushed by the foot  of superstition; it doth not exclude a single nation however barbarous.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“Reader, is prayer your element or your weariness? Which?”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

“Thou content to leave thy prayer in his hands, who knows when to give, and how to give, and what to give, and what to withhold. So pleading, earnestly, importunately, yet with humility and resignation, thou shalt surely prevail.”

Breaking Free From The Spirit And Bondage Of Rejection – Prayer.

Jesus, I worship you and I bow down before you.
I recognize your Lordship over everything.
And I thank you for the miraculous you are doing.
In the Authority of your name, I say:
Satan enough is enough!
There is, therefore, no more condemnation for those in Christ
No more shame
No more rejection
I refuse, I bind and rebuke any spirits of rejection in the mighty precious name of Jesus.
No more.
Devil no more.
Never again.
The past is the past.
Jesus has set my soul free.
Jesus has released my soul from bondage and rejection.
I will never be rejected by a man or woman again.
Never again.
No more shame.
I refuse it in the name of Jesus.
That curse is broken.
That curse is released.
I’m not under the Law of the flesh anymore.
I’m in the Spirit.
And in the Spirit, there is love and acceptance.
I refuse to be put to shame anymore.
Satan enough is enough.
I have suffered under your yoke of bondage.
You have slandered me.
You have tossed me about.
You have made me undesirable.
You have led others to gossip about me.
You have spread lies and rumors about me.
But that ends today.
That ends right now in the mighty name of Jesus.
Jesus came to heal.
Jesus came to make us acceptable.
I refuse to be trash.
I refuse to be a reject.
I refuse to be dumped.
I refuse to be deplorable.
I’m a Child of the Most High King.
I’m a Daughter of Jesus Christ.
I’m a Sister of Yeshua.
I’m Royalty.
I’m born of the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit is my guide.
Jesus is my Lord and savior.
Jesus is the master of my soul and spirit and life.
I can’t be rejected by any man or woman.
That is not my portion.
That is not my position.
Satan I refuse to settle for your breadcrumbs.
I refuse to beg you for what rightly belongs to me.
Slaving away like Jacob slaved for Laban.
I refuse in the mighty name of Jesus.
I have suffered enough under your rule.
I have endured pain and suffering.
I have endured enough rejection.
I have endured enough hurt.
But in the Authority of Jesus Christ, I come against you.
And I say No more.
Satan! No more.
I cast and bind this spirit of rejection in the mighty name of Jesus.
Satan you are a liar and thief.
Who came to steal, kill and destroy.
But Jesus came to give us Life and to give it to us abundantly.
And I, therefore, take the freedom of Jesus.
I take Jesus.
Lucifer leave right now.
No more games.
No more excuses.
No more disrespect.
No more deception.
No more loneliness.
No more intimidation.
No more negotiations.
Your time is up.
Leave right now.
I was once a captive but Jesus came to set the captives free.
And he has set me free.
Men and Women toying with my feelings and emotions stop today.
I deserve healthy and wholesome relations.
I deserve great and godly relationships and friendships.
I deserve to have people who love Jesus and obey him.
I deserve peace, joy, kindness, patience, meekness, gentleness, faithfulness, love, goodness, and self-control.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Not because I’m worthy but because of Jesus Christ.
The blood Jesus shed was not for nothing.
The blood of Jesus is costly.
And It already paid for the fruit and gift of the Spirit.
Jesus has already bought these things for us.
And so I claim mine.
Because I chose to follow him and make him my King.
He asks us to take his light yoke and give him our heavy burdens.
And that is what I have decided to do.
To give Jesus my heavy yoke of rejection and betrayal.
Jesus, I love you so much.
For so many reasons but one of them is that you give us gifts and fruits we don’t deserve.
Thank you Lord. Jesus be glorified.
Jesus thank you for my miracle.
Thank you for my breakthrough.
Thank you for my healthy relationships, marriage, and friendships.
Thank you for my godly marriage, relationships, and friendships.
Be glorified forevermore.
Be exalted.
Be magnified.
I lift you up and exalt you.
I bow down before you in reverence.
You are worthy.
You are excellent.
Thank you for Victory.
No more separation.
No more divorce.
No more betrayal.
No more dumping.
No more rejection.
No more heartbreak.
No more separations.
No more unfaithfulness.
Hallelujah!
Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Hashem, my portion, and rock.
I pray all this in Jesus’s mighty name.
Amen!

Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will restore him to health; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent request of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.

My Prayer:

As the level of evil keeps increasing in the world, as nations keep coming up with mind boggling policies.
As many people suffer poverty, oppression, disease, war, I pray we can remember to re-dedicate our nations and world back to God.
I pray we can we can sanctify ourselves, repent and turn back to God so that he can bless our land and world.
As we see Presidents and Prime ministers coming and going, I pray we remember who is the President of Presidents.
Jesus!

Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him:
I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple of sacrifice.
13 If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to consume the land, or if I send pestilence on My people,
14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
15 My eyes will now be open and My ears attentive to prayer from this place.
16 And I have now chosen and consecrated this temple so that My name may be there forever; My eyes and My heart will be there at all times.

The Prayer Of Saint Francis Of Assisi – You Get Back What You Give.

Lord, make me an Instrument of your Peace
Where there is Hatred, let me sow Love
Where there is Injury, Pardon
Where there is Doubt, Faith
Where there is Despair, Hope
Where there is Darkness, Light
Where there is Sadness, Joy
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much Seek
To be consoled as to Console
To be understood as to Understand
To be loved as to Love
For it is in Giving that we Receive
It is in Pardoning that we are Pardoned
And it is in Dying that we are Born to Eternal life

~
Saint Francis Of Assisi

The Prayer of Saint Francis Of Assisi.015

My Prayer:

Many times we do things innocently. Not knowing that our actions have consequences.
That the seeds we sow, whether good or bad will produce a harvest.
If we sow good seed, we can hope for a good harvest.
And in like manner, if we sow bad seed, then we can anticipate a bad harvest.
It’s the same we giving. When we give to others, we are sowing seeds.
I pray that we can give others good, so that when the harvest finally comes, we can receive good.
 In Jesus’s name, Amen!

Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure — pressed down, shaken together, and running over — will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Luke 6:38

The Prayer Of Saint Patrick – Finding Strength And Courage For The Day.

I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity
Through a belief in the Threeness
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ’s birth and His baptism
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim
In obedience of angels
In service of archangels
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward
In the prayers of patriarchs
In preachings of the apostles
In faiths of confessors
In innocence of virgins
In deeds of righteous men
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven
Light of the sun
Splendor of fire
Speed of lightning
Swiftness of the wind
Depth of the sea
Stability of the earth
Firmness of the rock
I arise today
Through God’s strength to pilot me
God’s might to uphold me
God’s wisdom to guide me
God’s eye to look before me
God’s ear to hear me
God’s word to speak for me
God’s hand to guard me
God’s way to lie before me
God’s shield to protect me
God’s hosts to save me
From snares of the devil
From temptations of vices
From everyone who desires me ill
Afar and near
Alone or in a multitude
I summon today all these powers between me and evil
Against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul
Against incantations of false prophets
Against black laws of pagandom
Against false laws of heretics
Against craft of idolatry
Against spells of women and smiths and wizards
Against every knowledge that corrupts man’s body and soul
Christ shield me today
Against poison, against burning
Against drowning, against wounding
So that reward may come to me in abundance
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me
Christ on my right, Christ on my left
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me
Christ in the eye that sees me
Christ in the ear that hears me
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity
Through a belief in the Threeness
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation

The Prayer Of Saint Patrick Finding Strength And Courage For The Day.014

My Prayer:

Sometimes life can get exhausting.
Too much to do, with so little time.
Sometimes we are faced with so much pressure from all sides as life tries to box into corners.
I pray when we are faced with insurmountable odds, we can trust the power of Jesus to see us through any difficulties we face.
I pray when we are feeling weak, we can trust Jesus to give us strength to soar as eagles and to carry on. Amen!

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Yahweh is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the whole earth.
He never grows faint or weary;
there is no limit to His understanding.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and strengthens the powerless.
30 Youths may faint and grow weary,
and young men stumble and fall,
31 but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary;
they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31

My Prayer:

Everything we ever need in this life, we can find in Jesus.
There is an emptiness in every soul that only Jesus can fill.
Some people have tried to fill this emptiness with other things and they have failed to find fulfillment.
If we seek and search, we can find all our heart’s desires in God because he is waiting to fill us and satisfy us.

I pray we can find Jesus as we seek and search for him with our all. Amen!

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink!
38 The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”

John 7:37-38

The Prayer Of Saint Teresa Of Avila – Trusting God’s Will.

Teach Us, Good Lord
To Serve You As You Deserve
To Give And Not Count The Cost
To Fight And Not Heed The Wounds
To Toil And Not To Seek For Rest
To Labor And Not To Ask For Any Reward
Except That Of Knowing That We Do Your Will
Through Jesus Christ Our Lord

.
Amen

My Prayer:

One of the most difficult words for me to pray is, “Lord, let thy will be done.”
Most times, I want things to go my way. But life is slowly teaching me that my way is not the best way.
Jesus’s way is the best way.
So, I’m slowly, albeit with difficulty starting to learn to let the Lord have his way and let his will be done.
It’s not easy but it’s totally worthy it because as events often play out in my life, I find God’s will turning out perfectly.
Jesus knows what we need and want even before we ask.
He is able to see past, present and future.
I pray we can trust his good, pleasing and perfect will and let our imperfect will down.

In Jesus’s name. Amen!

Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.
2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:1-2

The Serenity Prayer – Finding Calm In A Sea Of Chaos And Storms.

God grant me the Serenity
To Accept the things I cannot Change
Courage to Change the Things I can
And Wisdom to know the Difference
Living one day at a Time
Enjoying one moment at a Time
Accepting hardships as the Pathway to Peace
Taking, as He did, this Sinful World
As it is, not as I Would have it;
Trusting that He will Make all things Right
If I Surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably Happy in this Life
And supremely Happy with Him
Forever and Ever in the next.
Amen

The serenity Prayer Finding calm in a sea of chaos and storms.010

My Prayer:

We are all in need of peace. We seek for it and search for it in various places.
And sometimes, life will bring situations that cause chaos and confusion in our lives.
Storms will rage and conflict will reign.
During these times, we may find ourselves anxious, worried, confused and despair.
I do pray that during those times, when the storms of life rage, you can call on the Prince of Peace.
The one who is able to calm the storms and who the weather elements obey.
Jesus, the man who even the storms obey.

Amen

As He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
24 Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping.
25 So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!”
26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? — even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

Please Pray, Seek And Search For God While He Can Be Found – Prayer.

When was the Last time you Spoke to God?
When was the Last time you Sought the Lord?
When was the Last time you Listened to Jesus?
Did you take time to Pray today?
Did you ask God to Guide you through the Day?
Did you thank God for the Blessings he has bestowed you?
Did you tell him about all the things you need and want from him?

Many times we take Prayer for granted. Yet Prayer is very powerful and it’s one of the most important ways of communicating to God and maintaining a Vibrate, personal relationship with our Maker.

An anonymous person wrote the Poem below reminding us of the many reasons we don’t receive the things we seek and need from God. I pray it’s a challenge for us to seek, search and find the Lord while we have the time. Because like the Prophet Isaiah cautions us in the Bible there will come a time when we won’t have the opportunity:

Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Isaiah 55:6-7

Poem

I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn’t have time to pray.
 .
Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task.
“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered.
He answered, “You didn’t ask.”
 .
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn’t show me.
He said, “But you didn’t seek.”
 .
I tried to come into God’s presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
“My child, you didn’t knock.”
 .
I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

What Do You Say When You Don’t Know How To Pray – Prayer.

Have you ever found yourself in moments and situations where you want to Pray and don’t know how to or you have a need but know what to say Well, you are not alone. Many people all over the world, believers and unbelievers alike sometimes find themselves faced with the challenge of wanting to talk to God but being at a loss of words.

A few weeks back, I found myself in a very difficult and almost impossible situation. I have been a believer for many years now but during the storm I was facing, I didn’t know what to say to God.

I then turned to the Bible as I often do when looking for answers and I read the passage found in Matthew where Jesus taught his disciples how to pray. Truthfully, I hadn’t said the Lord’s prayer meaningfully in years. Most times when it was said in church, I just mumbled the words along but I didn’t put any soul or heart to the words.

The Lord's Prayer - Matthew 6_9-13 Bible Verse Infographic Image

Until, I found myself in situation where I didn’t have anything to say to God except the Lord’s Prayer. Since those many weeks back when I read the Prayer in Matthew, I have said the Lord’s prayer countless times. I have found that it’s not just a recital. The words contained therein are powerful words.

As, I was preparing to write this post, I checked my Bible again and I found another version of the prayer in Luke. The Prayer found in Luke is much simpler than the the prayer found in Matthew but I love them both.

Nowadays, I fully understand and appreciate why Jesus taught his followers this prayer. The Lord’s prayer is a very powerful prayer and it basically summaries all we could ever ask the Lord.

So, the next time you find yourself wanting to talk to God but not knowing how to (and life does throw such moments our way) or when all you can do is groan inwardly or just cry, why don’t you say the Lord’s prayer? It’s a very effective, efficient and quick way to talk to God and make your needs known.

The Lord’s Prayer

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

The Lord’s Prayer

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“‘Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”
Amen
