Power Over Elements And Nature – Miracles, Signs And Wonders Done By Jesus.

Jesus helps to calm the windstorm and tempest while in the boat with his disciples.

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Mark 4:35-41

Jesus walks on water and calls Peter to also walk on water.

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Matthew 14:22-33

Jesus causes the fig tree to wither.

Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. 19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?”
21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Matthew 21:18-22

Jesus instructs Peter to get a coin from the mouth of a fish.

When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”
25 He said, “Yes.”
And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
26 Peter said to Him, “From strangers.”
Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. 27 Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”

Matthew 17:24-27

Is Jesus Perfect And Infinite In All Power, His Intellectual And Moral Attributes – Spiritual Reading.

The next thing to be noted about the Christian conception of God is, that God is perfect and infinite in all His intellectual and moral attributes and in power.

1. First of all, fix your attention upon our first text: “God is Light”

(1 John 1:5). These three words form a marvellously beautiful and overwhelmingly impressive statement of the truth. They set forth the Absolute Holiness and Perfect Wisdom of God. The words need rather to be meditated upon than to be expounded.

“In Him is no darkness at all.” That is to say, in Him is no darkness of error, no darkness of ignorance, no darkness of sin, no darkness of moral imperfection or intellectual imperfection of any kind. The three words, “God is Light,” form one of the most beautiful, one of the most striking and one of the most stupendous statements of truth that was ever penned.

2. To come to things more specific, the God of the Bible is omnipotent.

This great truth comes out again and again in the Word of God. One direct statement of this great truth especially striking because of the connection in which it is found, occurs in Jer. 32:17, 27: “Ah Lord Jehovah! Behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thine outstretched arm: there is nothing too hard for thee.” Here it is Jeremiah who makes the statement, but in the 27th verse it is Jehovah Himself who says: “Behold, I am Jehovah, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”

In Job 42:2 we read these words of Job, when at last he has been brought to see and to recognise the true nature of Jehovah: “I know that thou canst do all things and that no purpose of thine can be restrained.”

In Matt. 19:26 our Lord Jesus says: “With God all things are possible.” Taking these passages together, we are plainly taught [by our Lord Himself and by others that God can do all things, that nothing is too hard for Him, that all things are possible with Him. In a word, that God is omnipotent.

A very impressive passage in the book of Psalms setting forth this same great truth is Ps. 33:6-9: “By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (7) He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the deeps in storehouses. (8) Let all the earth fear Jehovah: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. (9) For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.”

Here we see God by the mere utterance of His voice bringing to pass anything that He desires to be brought to pass. We find this same lofty conception of God in the very first chapter of the Bible, that chapter that so many people who imagine themselves scholarly are telling us is outgrown and not up to date, and yet which contains some of the sublimest utterances that were ever written, unmatched by anything that any philosopher or scientist or platform orator is saying to-day.

The very first words of that chapter read: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1), a description of the origin of things that has never been matched for simplicity, sublimity and profundity; and two verses further down, in the third verse, we read: “And God said, Let there be light: and light was.” These words need no comment.

There is here a sublimity of thought in the setting forth of the omnipotence of God’s mere word before which any truly intelligent and alert soul will stand in wonder and awe. There is nothing in poetry or in philosophical dissertation, ancient or modern, that can for one moment be put in comparison with these sublime words.

Over and over again the thought is brought out in the Word of God that all nature is absolutely subject to God’s will and word. We see this, for example, in Ps. 107:25-29: “For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. (26) They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: their soul melteth away because of trouble. (27) They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. (28) Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. (29) He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.”

Another description of a similar character is found in Nahum 1:3-6: “Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear the guilty: Jehovah hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. (4) He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. (5) The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. (6) Who can stand [before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.” What a picture we have here of the omnipotence and awful majesty of God!

Not only is nature represented as being absolutely subject to God’s will and word, but men also are represented as being absolutely subject to His will and word. For example, we read in Jas. 4:12-15: “One only is the lawgiver and judge, even he who is able to save and to destroy: But who art thou that judgest thy neighbour? (13) Come now, ye that say, to-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain: (14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (15) For that ye ought to say, if the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that.”

Happy is the man who voluntarily subjects himself to God’s will and word, but whether we voluntarily subject ourselves to God’s will and word or not, we are subject to His will and word whether or no. The angels also are subject to His will and word (Heb. 1:13, 14) and even Satan himself is, although entirely against his own will, absolutely subject to the will and word of God, as is evident from Job 1:12 and Job 2:6.

The exercise of God’s omnipotence is limited by His own wise and holy and loving will. God can [do anything, but will do only that which infinite wisdom and holiness and love dictate. This comes out, for example, in Isa. 59:1, 2: “Behold, Jehovah’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: (2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

3. The God of the Bible is also omniscient.

In 1 John 3:20 we read: “God knoweth all things.” Turning to the Old Testament, in Ps. 147:5, we read: “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; his understanding is infinite.” The literal translation of the last clause of this passage is “Of his understanding there is no number.” In these passages it is plainly declared that “God knoweth all things” and that “His understanding is infinite.”

In Job 37:16 Elihu the messenger of God is represented as saying that Jehovah is “perfect in knowledge.” Along the same line, in Acts 15:18 we read: “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.” The Revised Version makes a change in the translation of this verse but this change does not alter the sense of the truth here set forth that God knows all His works and all things from the beginning of the world.

Known to Him is everything from the most vast to the most minute detail. In Ps.147:4 we are told that, “He telleth the number of the stars; he knoweth them all by name.” While in Matt. 10:29 we are told that not a sparrow falleth [to the ground without Him. The stars in all their stupendous magnitude and the sparrows in all their insignificance are all equally in His mind.

We are further told that everything has a part in His purpose and plan. In Acts 3:17, 18, the Apostle Peter says of the crucifixion of our Lord, the wickedest act in all the history of the human race: “And now, brethren, I wot that in ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. But the things which God foreshowed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.”

In Acts 2:23 Peter declared on the day of Pentecost (although the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus was the wickedest act in all history) that nevertheless the Lord Jesus was “Delivered up by the determinate council and foreknowledge of God.” According to the Psalmist (Ps. 76:10) God takes the acts of the wickedest men into His plans and makes the wrath of men to praise Him, and the remainder of wrath doth He restrain.

Even the present war with all its horrors, with all its atrocities, with all its abominations and all its nameless wickednesses, was foreknown of God and taken into His own gracious plan of the ages; and He will make every event in this present war, even the most shocking things, designed by the vilest conspiracy of unprincipled men, utterly unhuman and beastly men and Devil inspired men, work together for good to those who love God, for those who are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).

The whole plan of the ages, not merely of the centuries, but of the immeasurable ages of God, and every man’s part in it, has been known to God from all eternity. This is made very clear in Eph. 1:9-12, where we read:

“Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him unto a dispensation of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say, in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will; to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who before hoped in Christ.”

And in Eph. 3:4-9, we read: “Wherefore when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy prophets and apostles in the Spirit; to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which from all ages has been hid in God who [created all things.”

There are no after-thoughts with God. Everything is seen, known, purposed and planned for from the outset. Well may we exclaim: “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God: how unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out.” (Rom. 11:33.) God knows from all eternity what He will do to all eternity.

4. God is also absolutely and infinitely holy.

This is a point of central and fundamental importance in the Bible conception of God. It comes out in our first text: “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” John when he wrote these words gave them as the summary of “The message which we have heard from God.” (1 John 1:5.)

In Isa. 6:3 in the vision of Jehovah which was given to Isaiah in the year that King Uzziah died, the “seraphim,” or “burning ones,” burning in their own intense holiness, are represented as standing before Jehovah with covered faces and covered feet and constantly crying, “Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of Hosts.” And in 1 Pet. 1:16 God cries to us, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.”

This thought of the infinite and awe-inspiring holiness of God pervades the entire Bible. It underlies everything in it. The entire Mosaic system is built upon and about this fundamental and central truth. Its system of washings; the divisions of the tabernacle; the divisions of the people into ordinary Israelites, Levites, Priests and High Priests, who were permitted different degrees of approach to God under strictly defined conditions, insistence upon sacrifices of blood as the necessary medium of approach to God; God’s directions to Moses in Ex. 3:5, to Joshua in Josh. 5:15, the punishment of Uzziah in 2 Chron. 26:16-26, the strict orders to Israel in regard to approaching Sinai when Jehovah came down upon it; the doom of Korah, Dathan and Abiram in Num. 16:1-33; and the destruction of Nadab and Abihu in Lev. 10:1-3: all these were intended to teach, emphasise and burn into the minds and hearts of the Israelites the fundamental truth that God is holy, unapproachably holy.

The truth that God is holy is the fundamental truth of the Bible, of the Old Testament and the New Testament, of the Jewish religion and the Christian religion. It is the preëminent factor in the Christian conception of God. There is no fact in the Christian Conception of God that needs more to be emphasised in our day than the fact of the absolute, unqualified and uncompromising holiness of God.

That is the chief note that is lacking in Christian Science, Theosophy, Occultism, Buddhism, New Thought, the New Theology and all the base but boasted cults of the day. That great truth underlies those fundamental doctrines of the Bible,—the Atonement by Shed Blood and Justification by Faith. The doctrine of the holiness of God is the keystone in the arch of Christian truth.

5. God is also love.

This truth is declared in [one of our texts. The words “God is love” are found twice in the same chapter (1 John 4:8, 16). This truth is essentially the same truth as that “God is light” and “God is holy,” for the very essence of true holiness is love, and “light” is “love” and “love” is “light.”

6. Furthermore, God is not only perfect in His intellectual and moral attributes and in power, He is also omnipresent.

This thought of God comes out in both the Old Testament and the New. In Ps. 139:7-10 we read: “Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? (8) If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in Sheol, behold thou art there. (9) If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea; (10) Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

There is no place where one can flee from God’s presence, for God is everywhere. This great truth is set forth in a remarkable way in Jer. 23:23, 24: “Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off? (24) Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.”

Last week we saw that God has a local habitation, that there is a place where He exists and manifests Himself in a way in which He does not manifest Himself everywhere; but while we insist upon that clearly revealed truth, we must also never lose sight of the fact that God is everywhere.

We find this same truth set forth by Paul in his sermon to the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers on Mars Hill, Acts 17:24-28: “The God that made the world, and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands: (25) Neither is served by men’s hands as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life and breath and all things. (26) And he made of one every nation of men who dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitations. (27) For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.”

From these passages we see that God is everywhere. He is in all parts of the universe and near each individual. In Him each individual lives and moves and has his being. He is in every rose and lily and blade of grass.

7. There is one other thought in the Christian conception of God that needs to be placed alongside of His omnipresence and that is His eternity.

God is eternal. His existence had no beginning and will have no ending, He always was, always is and always shall be. God is not only everywhere present in space, He is everywhere present in time.

This conception of God appears constantly in the Bible. We are told way back in Gen. 21:33 that Abraham called “On the name of Jehovah, the everlasting God.” In Isa. 40:28 we read this description of Jehovah: “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.”

Here again He is called “The Everlasting God.” Habakkuk in Hab. 1:12 sets forth the same conception of God. He says, “Art not thou from everlasting, O Jehovah my God, mine holy one?” The Psalmist gives us the same representation of God in Ps. 90:2, 4: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hast formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting thou art God. (4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is passed, and as a watch in the night.”

We have the same representation of God in the 102nd Ps., verses 24-27: “I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: Thy years are throughout all generations. (25) Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands. (26) They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed; (27) But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”

The very name of God, His covenant name, Jehovah, sets forth His eternity. He is the eternal “I am,” the One who is, was and ever shall be. (Cf. Ex. 3:14, 15.)

The Importance Of Humility In Life | The Power In Being Humble.

In a world that brags, it takes strength to be humble. Most people think humility is weakness but that is not true. Humility is powerful because it requires one to push against their flesh and ego.

Battling the ego is not an easy feat and it is a war we have to wage everyday.

Humility is a very important attribute because it helps to keep us in check so that we don’t go overboard and fall. There is a common adage that pride goes before a fall. Well, humility helps to make sure, we don’t fall. Humility helps us to soar.

Humility brings rest and peace of mind. The world is always pushing us to do more and to be more. There is continuous pressure to acquire things and then show these things off in guise of increasing our self esteem and self worth in the eyes of the world. Well, a humble and gentle spirit helps us to avoid falling into this all common trap.

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus is the most powerful force to reckon with in the universe and yet he is also the most humble person in history.

Jesus is lord and master and yet he humbled himself and washed the feet of his disciples and servants to demonstrate to them the importance of being humble.

Love Is Kind – The Healing Power Of Love

Love Is Kind – The Healing Power Of Love.

That year, my boyfriend had forgotten my birthday.
I didn’t take it as a big deal since I wasn’t exactly the party, celebration kind of girl. Plus, I rarely celebrated the day myself unless someone else decided to do it on my behalf. Most years, it just went by like any other day unless someone surprised me like happened that particular year.

I was therefore shocked when I got a call from a friend telling me, “When you are in town, please give me a call, I have something that has your name on it and belongs to you.”

When I eventually got to town, my friend had a package with a number of goodies and among them was the biggest, most expensive looking box of Chocolates I had ever seen in my life!

I looked at the box very surprised and speechless. He looked at me, not sure whether I was happy or not. So he went on to explain further, “I didn’t know what to get you. I wanted it to be a surprise so I didn’t ask whether you like chocolates or not. I hope you love them”

I then told him, ‘It’s not that. I’m just really deeply moved right now. That is why I’m speechless.’

He prodded me, “Go ahead and open the box. These are really delicious chocolates. Plus they are rare to find in these parts. I know you will love them.”

I told him, “No! I will open them later, when I’m home and settled. I want to savor them. Slowly and patiently.”

But something deeply intrigued me. So I asked him, ‘Why did you get me all this?’ He then proceeded to tell me, “Simply because I think you deserve this and much more.” I wasn’t very convinced, so I asked him, “Really? Is it not because it was my birthday a few days ago?”

He told me, “It was your birthday? Why didn’t you tell me? I didn’t know.”

I looked at him speechless and with my eyes a little misty. I don’t know if he saw the pain and untold stories in my eyes that day, but he went on to say, “You deserve every beautiful thing in this world.”

I just looked at him quietly. Deeply moved and speechless. I didn’t know what to tell him. But in my mind I kept thinking, ‘Wow! Wow! God still does create them like this! God you still make them this way, there is Hope for humanity after all.”

That day, as I meditated on the events that had happened, the word, Kindness took on a whole new meaning.
.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:18-19

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

The Power Of Your Words To Create Good Or Bad

Words have power immeasurably. They have the ability to change situations and destinies. Words can create or destroy. Words can give life or they can kill.

King Solomon perfectly illustrates it with the phrases below:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 18:21

He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
Why else did God give us the senses which many people keep abusing continually? Why do folks think God also provided us the Bible?
Words have power.

Proverbs 13:3

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Proverbs 15:4

I understand communication is multifaceted entity:

  • Images have power.
  • Colors have power.
  • Symbols have power.
  • Sounds have power.
  • Touches have power.
  • Vibrations have power.
  • Consonance and patterns have power.

Considering the power of communication in it’s varied forms, it’s therefore very important to watch what we think, say, watch and see.

If we are going to produce life giving words, then we have to sow the right seeds. And sowing the right seeds starts with having good seeds.

We have to be careful about the things we read for example magazines, books, articles, blogs etc.

We have to be intentional about what we watch and listen to because all these ultimately affect what we will say.

I pray we are able to speak life, love, Jesus, faith, hope into the lives of others. I pray we become builders and restorers.

How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Matthew 12:34-37

Building A Winning Mentality – Part 2 – Triumphal Meal.

Anchor Text:

“And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
38 So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.

1 Samuel 17:33-39

It does not matter who start the race the most important thing is who finish the race. Though some have gone ahead of you now it is not an issue the most important thing is the end. A winner is not border about the beginning because Job 8: 7 says, Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. Building a winning mentally is a sure way to live a productive life.

Every challenges you encounter in life is to charge you in order to be in charge of your destiny. A winner is charged in the atmosphere of challenges because Proverb 23:18 says For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Winning mentally is the characteristic way of thinking about obtaining victorious result.

In this edition we shall be looking at how to build a winning mentality. Therefore, building a winning mentality required the following : The strength of your Knowledge, The strength of your Faith and The strength of your Vision.

To live a triumphant life is to be adequately informed about God’s promises concerning you and your immediate environment. Knowledge is power that is why God says in Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge I will also reject thee.

You need to understand here that God says my people, that is His children not unbeliever but believer are destroyed for lack of knowledge. So it is possible to be born again or spirit filled and yet be under satanic bondage. See ,whatever you don’t know will continue to rule over you.

“Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”

Isaiah 5:13

God laid another emphasis here again that my people are in captivity today simply because of no knowledge. Building a winning mentality required the strength of your knowledge.

Note, every winner is a man and woman of faith. Life is a battle therefore the only recommended spiritual medication is faith because without faith you will always faint and defeated by the enemies.

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. To lay hold on what belongs to you in the place of destiny demands a rugged faith. Faith is a defensive mechanism that guarantee our victory.”

1 Timothy 6:12

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Building a winning mentality required the strength of your faith.”

Ephesians 6:16

I wrote WAEC (West African Examination Council) twice and JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) four times but I made up my mind that I will only go to university not polytechnic for two reasons. First, all the male sibling in my family are university graduate so I cannot settle for less. Secondly, I wanted to study Law and Polytechnic don’t offer law so I have no choice than to keep believing God for victory despite my consistence failure in JAMB however I finally passed my JAMB got admission ,graduated and served in JAMB and working in JAMB today.

Hello sir/ma, you are defeated in life because of the size of your faith not because of the size of your problem.

I pray for you today that where you have been rejected before they will celebrate you again in the mighty name of Jesus.

Conclusively, building a winning mentality required the strength of vision.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Proverbs 29:18

Vision is what guarantee a triumphant life. What you see empower your driven force to move further in life . The desire of God for us is to live by His vision.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

Joel 2:28

Where there is vision there is a provision and direction. You cannot carry God’s vision and be stranded.

“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.”

Exodus 23:20

Destiny is from the word destination so our destination is already prepared and packaged by God. Coming out of Egypt and going through the red sea and wilderness to Canna land is God vision that was why red sea, Amalakites, Jordan and Wall of Jericho were too small to stop God’s vision (people) because God is too faithful to abandon His vision.

“For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?”

Isaiah 14:27

You need to know your God vision on earth therefore you need to align your vision with God vision to fulfill your purpose on earth because no devil can stop God’s vision.

Memory Verse:

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

1 John4:4

Striking Point:

You are defeated in life because of the size of your faith not because of the size of your problem.

Prayer Points:
1. Father empower in every department of life to win every battle in the name of Jesus.
2. In the name of Jesus I refuse to stop my journey half way.

1 Samuel 17:33-39

We live by faith and not sight therefore building a winning mentality is a game of mind, strength of faith and not by sight. It is possible for a leper or a blind man to live a successful life but it is impossible to see a successful mad man in the society.

The strength of your mentality determines the quality of your triumphant life.

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”

Micah 7: 8

A winning mentality is the secret to a triumphant life. God has built in every man a winning mentality right from the beginning of creation God Himself gave us His breath which is the inspiration to live an outstanding life.

“There is a spirit in man and the inspiration ( breath) of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”

Job 32 :8

There is an inspiration invested in your spirit man greater than anything you could imagine in this world to empower you against every mountain in life. There is no mountain anywhere big enough to stop us, the problem is the lack of winning mentality.

“And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

1 Samuel 17: 32

David said to a whole King that let no man’s heart fail because of Goliath. What a winning mentality! See there is no Goliath anywhere the problem is lack of giant heart. To lay hold on what belongs you in the place of destiny requires a giant heart because it takes a giant heart to conquer your Goliath.

King Saul said to David again you are a youth so you are not qualified to war against Goliath because of your inexperience ,age, size and strength but David said it is not about age or whatever qualification you could mention my king but it is about what I can do because I am used to winning in any battle field.

Hello sir/ma, Your victory in life is not in size and sight but in the heart.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.

Philippians 4: 13

What is winning mentality?

To win is to obtain victorious result in a contest.
Mentality is the characteristic way of thinking of a person.
Winning mentality is the characteristic way of thinking about obtaining victorious result.

However, mentality emphasize on character and character is a daily lifestyle of a man therefore winning mentality requires a daily lifestyle commitment of a man thinking positively.

“Let this mind be in you as it was with Jesus.”

Philippians 2:5

Briefly, let me give you the picture of Jesus mind.

In John 3: 17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He is a saviour, in Jesus 16: 33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. He is an overcomer, in Romans 8: 37” Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

During Jesus earthly ministry you will understand that he has the mind of saviour, overcomer and conqueror therefore defeating satan become a very cheap assignment for Him because of this mentality.

In the next edition we shall be looking at what it takes to build a winning mentality.

Memory Verse:

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

1 John4:4

Striking Point:

Your Victory in Life is not size and sight but in the heart.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly father help me to build a winning heart and mentality to fulfill my destiny in life.

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.”

Matthew 4:1-10

We have discovered what Process is all about .In this edition we shall be looking at the importance of process in fulfilling God’s purpose on earth however there are two key words from the definition of process I want you to hold tenaciously from now on.

Once again process is a series of actions that produce something or that leads to a particular result. The two words are Actions and Results. Process has the capacity to expose someone actions and characters.

You will not believe that you can still commit fornication or adultery until you encounter Potiphar’s (Your boss) wife who needs you badly to sleep with her at no cost like Joseph without prying eyes, you will not believe that you can still steal until you are broke and you are a treasurer in your office or church like Judas Iscariot, you will not believe that you can still lie until you are under pressure like Peter who denied Christ three times more so you will not believe that you can give out your birthright at the expense of food until you are caught under pressure to eat anything because of scarcity, famine or unpaid salary for several months.

See, every Will of God for someone life must go through wilderness.

And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Deuteronomy 8: 2

We will not rush out of this scripture until we go through it over and over again to discover why God allowed His own children to go through wilderness for 40years.

  1. To test humility.
  2. To test actions.
  3. To test their heart.

These are the things that God was looking for in the life of His children for the period of 40 years. Now you know the reason why that breakthrough was delay in your life. Truly, you know if that breakthrough come now or if God answer that anointing you have been praying for you will not be committed or be faithful again in fact you are humble now because you don’t have anything at the moment.

Hello sir/ma , God may allow that problem or that prayer point to tarry for years in order to discover the real you. It was during the process of waiting for the fruit of the womb for almost 4 years I understood what patience is all about.

“For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise”.

Hebrew 10:36

It took 40 years for God to prepare Moses in the wilderness before he graduated yet you know the way he ended. David was anointed at the age of 17years as a king yet he did not ascend the throne until he was 30years.

It took another 40 days in the wilderness by Elijah to discovered Elisha because it was in the wilderness he discovered that he was no longer fit again for the race and God said no problem there is a replacement on ground already.

“But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”

1 King 19: 4

What of our Lord Jesus Christ?

He spent 40days in the wilderness going through series of test on character development that Adam the first savior failed in the Garden before he graduated from a beloved Son in whom am well pleased to a beloved Son in whom I am well pleased hear Him (Matthew 3:17& Matthew 17:5).

He started the ministry after he passed the test in the wilderness because it was in the wilderness God gave Him a voice. Now this was the same voice that John the Baptist lost in the wilderness as a result of impatience when he left the wilderness and he got killed prematurely that God handed over to Jesus Christ.

The importance of going through a process brethren is for you not to end up in shame. People were coming from town to the wilderness to hear John the Baptist.

In John1: 23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. No wonder God said in the book of Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

God is working out something in the wilderness you are going through now.

The eternal plans and package for you and I is far beyond bread and pleasures around us. Until you are ready to deny the pleasures of this world you will not be able to access the heavenly treasures prepared for you.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

James 1: 2

Don’t give up yet God is working on something. I understand you have been waiting for miracle job for years don’t worry, you have been trusting God for the fruit of the womb, you have been waiting for admission ,you are looking for a future partner, you have been waiting on God for divine direction, you have been trusting God for breakthrough? Don’t worry God is working out something better for you.

Let patience have her perfect work on you until you are capable of sustaining your breakthrough. No reasonable mother will give her little child razor blade to play. That you are waiting upon the Lord does not mean you are wasting your time but rather you are waiting on your season.

Until you understand your season you will not see a reason for going through a process. It is my prayer for you that you will not give up or die before your breakthrough.

Memory Verse:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Striking Point:

Until you are ready to deny the pleasures of this world you will not be able to access heavenly treasures prepared for you.

Matthew 4:1-10

Your success in life is determined by the process you pass through. You must pass through something in life to obtain your breakthrough. The beauty of gold is made through fire therefore life is not fulfill until it pass through a process. Baby is not delivered until the baby is processed for the period of nine (9) months in the womb.

Life is beyond butter and bread. Many people are in haste to accomplish life today in fact their prayer focus is divine speed to fulfill destiny at the expense of process. God is not an author of confusion therefore He has pre designed for every man a period in which he will be processed before he launch him out.

The success of Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry cannot be fulfilled without the law of process at the wilderness.

What is a Process?

Process is a series of actions that produce something or that lead to a particular result. Process is a divine package where God train and prepare His own children for the future ahead. Process is a school of training and preparation for the future leaders.

There are lots of pains, troubles, stress, struggles, pressure ,tears, shame and insult during the process however there is a result behind every insult in fact the insult is permitted most times because is capable of producing tangible results.

Every man is a product of something. What produces you matters in life because it goes a long way to affect your destiny. Man is made in the workshop and not on the stage. Many people are interested in the stage and not the workshop. There is no short cut in life for every short cut will definitely cut you off from the plan and purpose of God.

“And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: 18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

Exodus 13:17-18

God did not permit them to go through the short cut because they don’t have what it takes to stand the test of time.

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.”

Matthew 4: 1

God did not allow His Son( Jesus Christ) to start His earthly ministry until He passed through wilderness. To become something in life you must understand the power of process. Process is a period of training in order to determine the real person inside of you.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Jeremiah 17: 9

The essence of process is to determine the position of your heart. The first man Adam failed because he did not pass through the process for he saw everything around him made available no wonder he was not able to manage the success.

Many people have messed up at the peak of their success because they did not go through the process. Process is a period of preparation before manifestation. Jesus Christ was taken to the wilderness to prepare Him for the task ahead.

It was in the wilderness he understood the importance of prayer and fasting, quite time, personal fellowship and the power of the Word. Wilderness is a place where man is made, where flesh is drained, where the will of God is discovered and of course how to live a triumphant life.

In the next edition we shall be looking at the importance of the Power of Process in fulfilling destiny.

Memory Verse:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Striking Point:

Your success in life is determined by the process you pass through.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly father help me not to prolong my journey in Jesus name.

Rising Above Foundation – Part 1 – Triumphal Meal.

Anchor Text:

“Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”

Genesis 12: 1-4

No man can rise above his foundation except by the help of God. The strength of every building lies in the foundation and the secret of every man is resident in the foundation. How far a man can go in life is determine by the foundation.

“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Psalms 11:3

Right from the beginning of creation God has prepared a way out of separating man from his foundation and one of the ways is through marriage.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Genesis 2:24

Separating from father house as an escape route top the agenda of God as divine plan for every man right from the beginning of the world. There is a mystery beyond the physical independence through marriage as we thought however the mystery is unravel in this scripture.

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee . 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.

Genesis 12: 1-2

God said to Abram to come out of his foundation to a better place He will show him. Let us examine some errors from foundation which may be the reasons God desires for man to leave his father’s house if man must fulfill his purpose.
The first evil ( A murder case between two brothers Cain and Abel ) that took place in the Bible was from the same father house.

The first incest (sex between father and daughters – Lot and his daughters) took place in a father house.
The first robbery and manipulation (Jacob and Esau) took place in a father house.
The first envy and hatred that almost claimed Joseph life (Joseph and his brothers) took place in a father house. The first dream killer was also discovered in a father house.

Therefore beloved you can now understand better the plan of God for every man to leave his father’s house to a better place where God himself has prepared for us through Christ Jesus. Jesus is the new foundation upon which our destiny is covenanted and secured through the sacrifice of His Blood.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 3:11

This new foundation is free and redeemed from errors ,evil ,guilt and faults.

I pray for you and I that God will take us out of our evil foundation to a place God has prepared for us in Jesus name.
When God says leave your father’s house He only wants you to rise above your foundation and fulfill purpose. Whatever powers that tied your glory down in your foundation will release you today by fire in Jesus name.

Why will God waits for a man to leaves his foundation before God will bless him and make him great ?
That is why we need to consider the meaning of foundation.

What is Foundation?

The word foundation means root or origin of all things. Foundation means the beginning of something that provides support. Literarily, foundation is the basis (as a tenet, principle, or axiom) upon which something stands or is supported.

Now looking at the first definition you will discover that we have root and origin in the sentence. It is the root of the plant that determines their strength and fruits. Foundation determines how fruitful and how far someone will go in life. This is the reason devil is so much interested in fighting someone from foundation because your strength and originality is packaged in your origin therefore devil knows that the moment foundation is conquered everything is defeated.

But am glad to introduce Jesus Christ to you today the new foundation that is far above defeat, failures, afflictions, sickness, bondage, faults, kingdoms, powers and principality. All you need to do is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior and your identity changes immediately.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

In the next edition we shall be looking into solutions and types of foundation.

Memory Verse:

“And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.”

John 1:46

Striking Point:

No man can rise far above foundation.

Prayer Points:

  • Heavenly Father please have mercy on my foundation and deliver me from every legal ground upon which devil is using to attack me in the name of Jesus.
  • Lord Jesus arise and empower me to overcome my evil foundation today.
  • By the Power in the Blood of Jesus I silent every evil and errors at work in my life from my foundation.

You Would Be Shocked To Read What Has Been Happening To Many People On Facebook.

I received the post and message below in my email correspondence and I was compelled to share it because I believe this is important information and knowledge that needs to be out there.

I have copied and pasted the message, the way it was received.

You would be shocked to read what has been happening to many people on Facebook.

Don’t accept Facebook friends request of people you don’t know. Read this to the end, the world is in another shape now, #SHOCKING EXPOSURE!

Every facebook user needs to read this, especially the Christians.

I came across this on youtube and I think you deserve to know this. A man made very shocking confessions on what has been happening on facebook so far, and these were his words as he was questioned…
“We are out with a mandate to lay hold on the souls of the youth.”

WHO ARE YOU?

“We are agents of Lucifer and we are many.”

HOW DO YOU INTEND TO CARRY OUT THIS MISSION?

“We sat in our kingdom and watched how children, teenagers and youths got so interested on the social media, they got so carried away by Whatsapp, Bing, Facebook, Twitter and every other media so we invented a plan. We have destroyed many destinies and rendered many useless through social media but our main concentration is on “Facebook.”

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FACEBOOK?

Because we saw that it was more progressive than the others, youths love facebook, they spend much time on it than they do on the others so we placed more demonic agents on facebook and they are at work now even as I speak.”

HOW DO YOU GET THESE PEOPLE?

“It’s very easy!(laughs) we send them a friend request, once they accept the request, we write down their names in our book and start manipulating their spirits.”

IN WHAT MANNER DO YOU SEND THE REQUESTS?

“We send the requests just like every other facebook request but the spirit of the individual is captured mainly when he/she goes through our profile pictures or photo albums, once they see our pictures, their souls are already undergoing manipulations because those photos are not just any photo, they are ordinary photos with extraordinary spirits.”

WHAT DO THESE PHOTOS LOOK LIKE?

“Sometimes, we use the naked picture of a woman as our profile picture in order to attract men but most times, we use these pictures (he brought out some horror pictures of these movies- “The Lord of the rings”, “Vampire attack”, and many others I couldn’t recognize). Most times, we chat with them but when we chat, we don’t send text messages, we send these photos and once they see these photos, if they were vibrant spiritually, academically, morally and in every aspect, they will begin to drop and eventually drop down.”

WHAT DO YOU DO TO THE PEOPLE YOU CAPTURE?

“Their lives get contaminated negatively and their minds get polluted with lust, we never let them go, there are more number of spirits on earth than that of humans and each of them is looking for a body to carry them so many spirits can possess one person and before anything happens physically, it is controlled in the spirit. We get them addicted to porn, homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation, lust and fornication but the main weak points are porn, masturbation and fornication (laughs), they never get out of it no matter how hard they try.”

HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU GOTTEN?

They are too many and majority of them are youth.

GIVE A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF PEOPLE YOU’VE GOTTEN!

“Like I said, they are too many but on facebook alone, we have gotten over 2million youths and i believe our agents are still getting more now. We have diverted our attention on the youth and they are falling to this very plan. We send the request, they accept, go through our photos and they get manipulated. Their lives will never remain the same.”
(After this, the spirit speaking through this young man was cast out showing that even he himself was a victim of the same manipulations).

My dear facebook friend, can you count how many friend requests you’ve accepted or how many people you’ve added? Can you recall how many pictures you’ve seen or how many chats you’ve had? Are you among these 2million youths or among the ones that are yet to be gotten?

Before the end of the deliverance, the spirit mentioned that they have access to the spirits of those facebookers who are “empty” and once they get them, they make love to them through dreams and drain their destinies.

I now ask, “Are you empty?” The term “empty” here is a spiritual term.

Do you have a stronger spirit dominating you?

What Is More Important – Power Or Money – Blog Of The Day

What Is More Important - Power Or Money - Blog Of The Day Blog Post Banner Image

What Is More Important – Power Or Money – Blog Of The Day.

The debate on what is more important, Power or Money is a controversial and long ranging one.

Many people including preachers have argued that Money is the most important thing in this world because Money is the medium of exchange we need to acquire valuables in this world.

Some preachers have gone as far as quoting King Solomon using the scripture below to push their arguments in the importance of money.

A feast is prepared for laughter, and wine makes life happy, and money is the answer for everything.
Ecclesiastes 10:19

Other people say that money leads to power and without money one can not have power and often allude to the fact that poor people have no power and influence.

On the other side of the debate, a few people argue that without power, money is useless. Money without power is prone to be misused and will soon be depleted since a person with no power also has no will power and therefore no self control.

Extrapolating these arguments to the Church, a few preachers have said that what believers need more than money is power because that is what Jesus promised his disciples before ascending to heaven.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea Acts 1_8 Bible Verse Instagram Post

Without the power of God through the Holy Spirit, we cannot do the work of God satisfactorily and successfully.

For believers and the church to be relevant in this generation and the perilous times that we live in, they need to take back their power and position in this realm.

Unfortunately many believers have no idea about the power they possess because they are focusing on the wrong things.

“Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.”
Matthew 22:29

I pray that, as believers we shall be able to recognize our power and position in Jesus Christ and take our rightly places in this world.

A Pastor, musician and evangelist who blogs at Rethinking Scripture has brilliant and daringly bold views on the prosperity gospel that has filled our pulpits and how the Church has grown weak by giving away it’s power in exchange for prosperity and money.

He shares his thoughts on his blog in a series titled, “The Church: Abdicaation Of Power.

Follow the links after each exceprt to read the whole article.

“On a Sunday morning a week or two back I was channel surfing looking for something to listen to.  I came across a broadcast of an American national preacher.  He started his service by asking the congregation to stand raise their Bibles in the air and follow him as he recited a self-esteem creed.  I listened totally shocked, after about five to ten seconds I had had enough and turned the channel.  There was not one thing that pointed the congregation or the listeners watching on the television to the Gospel of Christ.  It was pure garbage of “positive thinking”.

Somewhere through the decades the message of the cross has been replaced by the gospel of “I”.  This is not the message Christ spoke to his disciples when he said …

“While I travelled with an evangelist who preached the prosperity gospel sometimes I would talk to ladies and men who would tell me that they gave their rent money to the preacher believing that God would return it to them in a great financial miracle.  They would tell me that they gave their food money and the only thing they had left to eat “cat food”.  Yes, I know that sounds far fetched but that are some of the things I have been told by many coming to the meetings.

I do know that there are some pastors in pulpits who do not subscribe to the prosperity message.  Many of these pastors live an honest living wage, some supplement their income by working a secular job also.

The prosperity gospel has stripped many in the body of Christ from the message of the cross.  This message gives a false security to those who follow it.

Somewhere the message of the cross has been taken away and in its place this damnable doctrine the “prosperity gospel”.  They have abdicated power for prosperity.  Their faith is misguided.”

via The Church: Abdication Of Power-Part Two

The message of the cross is a distant memory except for those of generations past.  Sanctuaries look like the clubs one would enter on a Saturday night.  The music could be mistaken for that of a soft rock radio station.  Everything that is done is for one purpose, the purpose of fleshly stimulation.  None which magnifies the Lord, lifts our spirit heavenward.

Yes, there are those who have not succumed to these methods, yet, they are few and far scattered across the globe.  The message of the cross is greeted with shouts of “we don’t want your bloody religion”.  It is only the message of the cross that pierces the stony heart of man to reveal to man that the only way to have forgiveness is through the blood that was shed on a cross made from a dogwood tree.

There is no urgency of the coming of the Lord, people somehow feel that the good times will never end.  Oh, how they are wrong.  We are not promised tomorrow, it is only by the sovereign grace of God.

The Powerful Things That The Blood Of Jesus Can Do – Faith In Jesus Christ

The Powerful Things That The Blood Of Jesus Can Do - Faith In Jesus Christ Blog Post Banner Image

The Powerful Things That The Blood Of Jesus Can Do – Faith In Jesus.

Have you ever felt like the devil is viciously after you? You are probably a “good christian” and believer who does what is supposedly right and yet for one reason or another, the devil seems to be attacking you.

I have felt that way. As the devil and his agents pelt accusations at me. Reminding me of past sins, transgressions and iniquities.

For a long time I struggled with this. I didn’t understand what I was doing wrong to be so attacked and malingered. Then one day as I was reading through the scriptures, I came across a powerful passage in the book of Revelations.

The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Messiah have now come, because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown out:
the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
11 They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not love their lives in the face of death.

Revelation 12:10-11

They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not love their lives in the face of death. Revelation 12_11 Bible Verse Instagram Post

This Bible verse opened my eyes on how believers defeat the enemy.

It also revealed to me that believers were under utilizing the Blood of Jesus.

Many believers do not know much about the Blood of Jesus and how they can use it to break the enemy’s strong holds in their lives.

During the last supper, Jesus told his disciples that his blood was part of the New Convent for the forgiveness of sins.

Then He took a cup, and after giving thanks, He gave it to them and said, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood that establishes the covenant; it is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:27-28

Don’t allow the devil to guilt you and shame you for past sins. The blood of Jesus is able to make new and cleanse completely. If you are struggling with sin, go to the father, ask to be washed in the blood of Jesus and repent of your sins.

And if the devil ever dares to start accusing you and reminding you of the past or your shortcomings, just give him your testimony and plead the blood of Jesus.

The blood of Jesus will render all the power and wiles of the enemy powerless.

If you need to know more about the blood of Jesus and what it can do, please read the  brilliant and expository article on the Blood of Jesus by Anomalous Darling.

If you’ve been reading Anomalous Darlings for an extended amount of time, you probably know two things to be true (in addition to my love for Jesus, family and cupcakes): 1) I, too struggle with surrendering to God and 2) I enjoy mystery murder T.V. shows and books. It’s an unlikely combination, but let me […]

I pray Jesus blesses their ministry and increases them abundantly.

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2
