The Importance Of Humility In Life | The Power In Being Humble.

In a world that brags, it takes strength to be humble. Most people think humility is weakness but that is not true. Humility is powerful because it requires one to push against their flesh and ego.

Battling the ego is not an easy feat and it is a war we have to wage everyday.

Humility is a very important attribute because it helps to keep us in check so that we don’t go overboard and fall. There is a common adage that pride goes before a fall. Well, humility helps to make sure, we don’t fall. Humility helps us to soar.

Humility brings rest and peace of mind. The world is always pushing us to do more and to be more. There is continuous pressure to acquire things and then show these things off in guise of increasing our self esteem and self worth in the eyes of the world. Well, a humble and gentle spirit helps us to avoid falling into this all common trap.

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus is the most powerful force to reckon with in the universe and yet he is also the most humble person in history.

Jesus is lord and master and yet he humbled himself and washed the feet of his disciples and servants to demonstrate to them the importance of being humble.

Disguises And Choosing Humility Over Pride – Lessons From Abraham’s Lie

Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife and he called her his sister to the Egyptians.

Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe. 11. As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. 12. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. 13. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”

Genesis 12:10-13

Reading this particular story about Abraham led me to go back to the basics. It made me ask questions. Abraham lied and yet God didn’t punish him for it.

So, what is truth? Is there a difference between truth and sincerity? Is truth relative or an absolute? Can acting outwardly truthfully without meaning it inwardly be a disguise for pride? A way of boasting and saying. “This is me.” As one thumps their chest and screams false bravado?

Abraham knew his truth. But did the world (Egyptians) have to know it too?Was hiding his true self in humility better in this particular scenario? By the time Abram went to Egypt, God had already promised to make him great and the father of many nations. Abraham could have boasted in this knowledge. He could have told the Egyptians the truth knowing God would protect him. And yet he chose to be humble. He chose to hide himself.

This shielding himself in clothes of humility allowed him to live well in Egypt. And even after his lie had been discovered, he was sent packing with gifts.

I don’t don’t know the mind of God. I don’t know why he chooses to do certain things. But I’m starting to realize that the things of God are not always cut and dry. They are not always black and white as we see with human eyes. And this is teaching me to take a pause once in a while. To resist giving quick judgements. To ask questions and seek for answers. To learn and grow daily. Not to be rigid and proud but allowing for flexibility and humility. Because at the end of the day, God prefers humility to pride. Even if that humility maybe clothed in a seeming lie and pride clothed in seeming truth.

And at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what people say about you. Or what label they attach to you. What matters more than anything is that whatever you do, you do it for Jesus. You do it to please him.
Don’t be a people pleaser. Be a God pleaser. Even if pleasing God means drinking a few wines and getting drunk in celebration of God saving you from the great flood like Noah while your self righteous friends (we all play this role at one time or another) think you have lost it.

Sometimes, a good act before men can be an evil act before God. There was a man (Uzzah) in the book of Samuel who tried to prevent the Ark of the Lord’s covenant from falling and the Lord struck him dead. Right there! At the spot! The man probably prided himself in his ability to save God and God thought otherwise.

And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.

2 Samuel 6:6-7

I pray that Jesus gives us wisdom to be discerning of right from wrong in whatever we do. And above all I pray that he gives us the grace to discern instead of judging. To love more and stop hating.

Belt Of Truth As Part Of The Full Armor Of God – Spiritual Warfare.

Spiritual Warfare.

Belt Of Truth.

Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist.

Ephesians 6:14

Truth is deeper than just being honest. It means being sincere in your intentions and actions too.Telling the truth also takes Humility.Pride does not flow with Truth.

In human anatomy the area from the waist down is a sensitive area.On the human body, this area includes the reproductive parts, organs, thighs and legs.Any damage to our reproductive system can lead to infertility which ultimately leads to un-productivity.

As believers, we need to be productive. We need to multiple.Whether that multiplication includes talents, skills, wealth, families or any endeavors we find ourselves engaging in.Wearing your belt of truth firmly around your waist, will guard your production and even speed of production.

Don’t allow the enemy to bring famine, drought and hunger into your life through lies, dishonesty, pride and untruthfulness. Truth is life giving and there is life stored in your productive parts. We know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy.

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." (Ephesians 6:14) The Apostle Paul compares spiritual armor to the armor of the Roman soldier of this time. He begins by mentioning the truth as our loins girt, what is it? The truth of the word (John 17:17) is our first defensive weapon to destroy every lie of the devil and religion in order to be free from the influence of the thief because every lie you allow in your life gives authority to the father of lies on you. Let the truth set you free in the name of Jesus (John 8: 31-32) #s Wisdom4everyday#wisdomformife#jesuschrist#holyspirit#john#apostle#soldier#truth#lies#beltoftruth#gospel

All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:8-10

If the enemy destroy’s you through untruthfulness, then he restricts and curtails your productivity and multiplication. We also know that the devil is the father of lies and there is no truth in him.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

John 8:42-47

Therefore, if we are to distinguish ourselves and set ourselves apart as children of the light, then we have to train ourselves and learn to live in truth. It’s very important and imperative to. And when we find ourselves having any difficulties in living truthfully, let’s ask Jesus for help to live in truth like he does because Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 14:6

Truth Is Life. Jesus Is Truth.

✝️ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ‭‭🔥Ephesians‬ ‭6:11-17‬🔥 . . . #fullarmorofgod #fullarmor #schemesofthedevil #schemes #devil #God #fleshandblood #powers #forcesofdarkness #spiritualforces #wickedness #standfirm #girdyourloins #truth #breastplate #breastplateofrighteousness #shodyourfeet #gospelofpeace #gospel #🛡#shieldoffaith #flamingarrows #evilone #helmetofsalvation #swordofthespirit #🗡 #⚔️ #wordofGod #bible #📖

I Will Heal Them And Reveal To Them The Abundance Of Peace – Healing Bible Verses.

Sickness can be a difficult time in life. And with an increase in incurable diseases there often comes a desperation and hopelessness when one is faced with illness. A common question that is often asked by non-believers is does Jesus still heal or are miracles things of the past.

Well, the answer is simple. If we believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, then we can also believe that he is able to do what he did yesterday, today and forever. So, in dealing with the issue of spiritual healing, I decided to look at three verses and what they can teach us on how to attain healing from God.

1.If we need God to heal us we should fear him. Fearing God is not the same as unbelief. Fearing God is obeying his commandments and living in godliness, righteousness and truth.

But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Malachi 4:2-3

2. The Lord is Faithful and waiting to heal us of any diseases we may have if we turn to him. Sin and iniquity can lead to disease but the Lord’s forgiveness will bring healing.

Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. 7 And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first. 8 I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. 9 Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’

Jeremiah 33:6-9

3. Humility draws us closer to God and his healing presence. Prayer and seeking the Lord in sincerity will cause him to heal our bodies, our loved ones, our life and our Land.

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and My ears

2 Chronicles 7:14-15

Do we want the Lord to heal our land and our lives? Then let’s turn to him and start to live in righteousness and godliness.
