Love Is Kind – The Healing Power Of Love

Love Is Kind – The Healing Power Of Love.

That year, my boyfriend had forgotten my birthday.
I didn’t take it as a big deal since I wasn’t exactly the party, celebration kind of girl. Plus, I rarely celebrated the day myself unless someone else decided to do it on my behalf. Most years, it just went by like any other day unless someone surprised me like happened that particular year.

I was therefore shocked when I got a call from a friend telling me, “When you are in town, please give me a call, I have something that has your name on it and belongs to you.”

When I eventually got to town, my friend had a package with a number of goodies and among them was the biggest, most expensive looking box of Chocolates I had ever seen in my life!

I looked at the box very surprised and speechless. He looked at me, not sure whether I was happy or not. So he went on to explain further, “I didn’t know what to get you. I wanted it to be a surprise so I didn’t ask whether you like chocolates or not. I hope you love them”

I then told him, ‘It’s not that. I’m just really deeply moved right now. That is why I’m speechless.’

He prodded me, “Go ahead and open the box. These are really delicious chocolates. Plus they are rare to find in these parts. I know you will love them.”

I told him, “No! I will open them later, when I’m home and settled. I want to savor them. Slowly and patiently.”

But something deeply intrigued me. So I asked him, ‘Why did you get me all this?’ He then proceeded to tell me, “Simply because I think you deserve this and much more.” I wasn’t very convinced, so I asked him, “Really? Is it not because it was my birthday a few days ago?”

He told me, “It was your birthday? Why didn’t you tell me? I didn’t know.”

I looked at him speechless and with my eyes a little misty. I don’t know if he saw the pain and untold stories in my eyes that day, but he went on to say, “You deserve every beautiful thing in this world.”

I just looked at him quietly. Deeply moved and speechless. I didn’t know what to tell him. But in my mind I kept thinking, ‘Wow! Wow! God still does create them like this! God you still make them this way, there is Hope for humanity after all.”

That day, as I meditated on the events that had happened, the word, Kindness took on a whole new meaning.
.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:18-19

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

Is God’s Love Conditional Or Unconditional – Exploring Love In The New Age

Is God’s Love Conditional Or Unconditional – Exploring Love In The New Age Blog Post Banner Image

God’s love is Conditional, it is not unconditional!

WHAT?

I think I just had a nightmare I immediately reasoned when I woke up one cheery morning a few days ago and the first thing that came to my mind, wasn’t how lovely the weather was, but that God’s love is conditional.
It sounded almost like hearsay and blasphemy!
God’s love is not unconditional?

After everything the Televisions, Newspapers, Magazines, Novels, Hollywood, a hoard of Pastors, Priests, Popes, Prophets etc had been preaching and screaming for years?

How could God’s love be Conditional? The thought alone started causing me Cognitive dissonance.
I started remembering all the times I had advocated for blindly unconditional love.

I was really having a difficult day with these thoughts that stubbornly refused to leave me however hard I tried getting them out of mind. And where had this thought come from to occupy my mind?
How could this be?
Where was I going to put 1 Corinthians 13 and all the other love verses I believed?

All these thoughts led to emotions and feelings that felt like daggers to my soul and heart. In fact I started going through the 5 stages of Grief in no particular order.

During the anger phase, I felt like screaming, ‘God this feels like sabotage, Why are you doing this to my long held beliefs?’ But that day it felt like God was pin drop silent.

Soon my Anger had turned into denial. This could not be possible. God’s love could not be conditional. So to help calm myself, I started bargaining with Jesus. But despite all the  negotiations and arguments that went in my head with God, the thoughts just grew louder and louder.

Anyhow, as with every time I get cognitive dissonance, to ease my mind of the pain of conflicting thoughts, I often research and that is what I did. I got my tools and went to work to explore whether God’s love is truly conditional.

I started by praying and then I proceeded to open my Bible. I went to re-read John 3:16 the famous and widely quoted Bible Verse that speaks of the greatness and largeness of God’s love.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16-18 (NKJV)

Indeed God loved the world so much! He loved the world so much, he left his glorious kingdom and showed up himself to redeem the world himself, BUT, in verse 16 there is that catch phrase WHOEVER which doesn’t sound at all like ALL. If you don’t accept Jesus and his perfect sacrifice, like verse 18 says, you are already condemned.
Now, that sounds conditional.
Either accept Jesus or be condemned.

Let’s stop deceiving ourselves and taking God’s Love for granted. God love’s us very much but he also expects belief from us. Plus it’s time for a mindset change too because we have held onto these deceptive and manipulative thoughts for a long time.

And to all those who have been blackmailing other’s to manipulate them into giving unconditional love in the guise of God’s love is unconditional, so if you are a Christian you have to put up with my evil and wicked behavior etc … Think Again! Yes! Please THINK AGAIN.

What Is Stopping You From Receiving And Giving Love

What Is Stopping You From Receiving And Giving Love Blog Post Banner Image

What Is Stopping You From Receiving And Giving Love.

What is stopping you from giving Love?

What is stopping you from receiving Love?

What is stopping you from enjoying Love?

What is stopping you from indulging in Love?

What is separating you from experiencing Love?

What is preventing you moving forward and leaving your hurt behind?

Is it fear?

Is it pain?

Is it rejection?

Is it shame?

Is it guilt?

Is it the Past?

Is it sickness?

Is it poverty?

Is it suffering?

Is it withchraft?

Is it the future?

Is the present?

Is it persecution?

Is it persecution?

Is it lack of opportunity?

Well, I’m writing to let you know that you can lay down whatever has been preventing and stopping you from accessing love at the foot of the cross of Jesus.

Take the baggage and burdens to his cross.

Leave it all there and exchange it for his Love.

The love of Jesus will do this for you:

  1. Make you whole
  2. Help you learn to love yourself
  3. Help you learn to give others love
  4. Help you learn to receive love.

Let nothing in this world, the sky, the sea or anywhere ever stop you from accessing the love of Jesus.

38 For I am persuaded that not even death or life,
angels or rulers,
things present or things to come, hostile powers,

.
39 height or depth, or any other created thing
will have the power to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Romans 8:38-39

What Does Love Mean To Children

What Does Love Mean To Children Blog Post Banner Image

What does love mean to children as they grow up?

What does love mean to children as they grow up?

Are we teaching children the true meaning of love and helping them not only know the love of Jesus Christ but love for others?

I found five children at the park and decided to ask them what love meant to each of them. They gave me some delightful answers.

Thomas – Age 6 – “Love is when Daddy tucks me in to sleep at night and reads me a story.”

Jenny – Age 5 – “Love is when mummy buys me dolls and treats.”

Benjamin – Age 5 – “Love is being all nice and good.”

Gerry – Age 7 – “Love is when my mummy and my daddy kiss and look at each other with that look in their eyes.”

Regina – Age 6 – “When my friend Destiny shares her toys and snacks with me while we are playing, that is love.

Ritu is a working mother who has two adorable children.

She shares her experiences on, “What love means to kids”  in an awesome blog post. Her post was inspired by a question she asked her two children on what love meant to them.

Her children gave very creative  responses.

In answering the question, they imaginatively expressed themselves by drawing pictures, writing posts and some very heart warming poetry. She starts her fabulous blog post by telling us:

“I asked my children what love meant, and both of them, at separate times, mad faces at me, and went “Yuck!” Typical reactions for an 11 and 9-year-old! Love = boys/girls = kissing. Of course, that’s ‘yuck’ to them! After a little more explanation, the best we came up with was this; Lil Man There” …….

As we help children learn how to love wholesomely, we should remember to teach them the 1 Corinthians 13Bible definition of love which I summarized as:

Love is patient

Love is kind.

Love does not envy

Love is not boastful

Love is not puffed up

Love does not act improperly

Love is not selfish

Love is not provoked

Love thinks no evil

Love does not keep a record of wrongs

Love takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true

Love bears all things

Love believes all things

Love hopes all things

Love endures all things

Love never fails
