He Is The Best Fix For Your Anxiety And Worry – The Holy Spirit.
The dictionary defines anxiety as:
A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.
Is anxiety a healthy, and normal reaction to stressful situations? Well, I guess it depends on the extent of the anxiety. If the anxiety is excessive, and obsessive leading to toxicity and unhealthy consequences, then it seizes to be normal.
Anxiety is a common worldwide disability that cuts across national, racial, age, gender, and economic boundaries. Parasitic anxieties are known to surface anytime from childhood through to old age.
The exaggerated worries and expectations of negative outcomes in unknown situations that typify excessive anxiety are often accompanied by physical symptoms. These can include twitching, muscle tension, headaches, stomach cramps, and frequent urination. Behavioral therapies, with or without medication to control symptoms, have proved effective against anxiety in selected cases.
While behavioral therapies work in some instances, I believe the greatest, most effective person to teach us new ways of living anxiety free lives is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit counsels, guides and teaches excellently.
Paul encourages believers to be transformed by the renewing of their minds and who best to help with this but the Holy Spirit. Renewing the mind leads to changes in behavior.
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
The word of God in the Bible which is Holy Spirit inspired is also an excellent resource you can use when you feel anxious, worried or stressed.
Below are some Bible verses you can read and meditate on that will help you to overcome your anxious thoughts.
Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
Lord Jesus as we go through life burdened with anxieties, worries and stress, please send us your Holy Spirit to help us to handle the pressures and overcome so we can live the abundant stress free life that only you can give.
In the name of Jesus I pray.
