Slaying Giants – Achieving Peace And Victory By Facing Your Troubles

Slaying Giants – Achieving Peace And Victory By Facing Your Troubles.

For one reason or another, though I love peace there are just some people I rub the wrong way. Truth is the number of people I irk exceeds those I don’t. Most people can’t stand me. Sometimes I can give off the craziest vibes ever. Not everyone will understand you. It’s not their duty to.

A few times, I will ask some people to give me peace. Some do and some don’t. Some people have unfriended me and closed me out of their lives.
I have done the same. It’s life. No one is perfect. We are mortals.
We shall find people we can get along with and we shall find those we can’t get along with.

It’s just the truth. Heck, if Cain could kill his own brother Abel and Jacob could take away his own Twin’s (Esau) supposed birth right then what about strangers and friends made along life’s journey?

Despite the glaring differences between me and other mortals, I’m generally a peace loving person who will not go out of her way to start trouble or war. I try to stay away from conflict and avoid it as much as possible.

Sometimes giving peace to another person, means pushing them away so they can have an opportunity to find who they truly are. Healing comes in various forms.

Peace is not a passive, quiet thing like some mistakenly assume. It’s a palpable entity. It’s choosing to fight tyranny, bullies, evil and hate so that love, joy, peace, righteousness have an opportunity to flourish.

So, what happens when the tables are turned?
What happens when it’s you causing chaos and not giving other’s peace?
What happens when someone says, “Don’t touch!” And you go right ahead, not only to touch but to also take?
What happens when people warn you about things but instead of heeding their warnings, you do the opposite?

What makes some people that maddening and troublesome?
Well, folks, some of you might not believe it but it’s the stuff FAITH is made of.

In fact, it sounds like a typical Bible story. The well-known story of David and Goliath quickly comes to mind.

Small, young David facing off with the great and experienced giant Goliath. David who was looked down on by even his own family.

When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.”
29 “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?”

1 Samuel 17:28-29

Everyone, filled with terror and fear, including King Saul seems bent on discouraging David on his pursuit to defeat the mighty Goliath and bring peace and righteousness to the land.

David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”
33 Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.”

1 Samuel 17:32-33

When the people, realize that they won’t be able to change David’s mind, they try to edit and change him. An example is King Saul trying to dress David in his own tunic and armor.

Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. 39 David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.

1 Samuel 17:38-39

Instead of wearing, King Saul’s fancy garments, David chose to be humble. He chose to stay true, original and authentic.

“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

1 Samuel 17:39-40

Long story short, David defeated Goliath with a sling and a stone and no fancy swords, armor or battle gear.

Do you have a challenge in your life today? Are you facing insurmountable odds? Are the pressures so pressing and hard?
Do you feel so small, unworthy and insignificant?
Is everything and everyone around you falling into chaos and out of whack?

Well, how about doing what David did? How about trusting God instead of mortals? How about putting your Faith in a sure God, Jesus Christ and slaying some giants instead of cowering in fear?

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

1 Samuel 17:45-46

You Have Invisible Protection And Provisions Against Witches And The Wiles Of The Devil.

Sometimes without many of us realizing it, God has surrounded us with an invisible army that constantly protects and seals us. We might not always see it, but we can be certain that behind the scenes, God is fighting on our behalf and doing great works we might never know about.

There are many mysteries whose meanings we do not know at this time. There are battles in the spiritual that we might not be able to see with our physical eyes. Sometimes our spiritual eyes are closed and we are not able to have a glimpse of what is taking place in the spiritual and the heavenlies.

In the Bible story below, Elisha the Prophet’s servant thought they were surrounded by the enemy and he was worried not knowing what they would do since they seemed out numbered. Well, that is until Elisha prayed and the servant’s eyes were opened to see the fiery army of the Lord protecting them.

“When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
18 As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked.”

2 Kings 6:15-18

How many times have you felt like you were surrounded by the enemy and you were out numbered?

A few months back, I visited a city in South Africa for a couple of weeks. Unknown to me, the house I was living in was surrounded by witch and wizard covens. Witch doctors in South Africa are known as sangomas. I did not know that the neighborhood was filled with powerful sangomas when I got the house. As the days went on, I noticed that it was customary for the wizards and witches to chant at about 6pm every evening. Hearing these eerie and confusing sounds, I often felt surrounded. I felt alone. Like the enemy was all around me.

One night, there was no sound from the neighboring houses , so I thought it was safe to go out and I decided to get of my house, sit on the porch so that I could watch the stars.  I opened my door and found a large group of witches and wizards outside the compound. They had all sorts of interesting paraphernalia, were smoking and talking in low tones. I was momentarily paralyzed as I watched the scene before me.

I didn’t know whether to go back inside or to run. So many thoughts started rushing through my mind. Going back inside seemed scary. What if one of the witches had a gun and shot my backside. Running was futile as all escape routes had been blocked.

Out of options, I remembered what the Apostle Paul said in Ephesians:

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Ephesians 6:13

So, I decided to stand outside my door and start praying in the spot I was rooted in. I didn’t pray loudly. Just silent, pleadings to Jesus Christ and his Holy Spirit to shield, protect me and save my life. I kept pleading for the blood of Jesus to cover me so that the enemy would not touch me. As I stood there for about 4 hours, a different witch would walk up to me an instrument, wanting to strike me, then something would happen and it seemed like they would change their mind, walk back to their group, mutter some words to the other members of the group and then walk away. After a few minutes, another witch would also come over and the same thing would happen.

This went on for about four hours until all the witches had walked up to me, instrument in mind, changed their mind and then walked away.

That night, I was physically unarmed and yet I believe that the supernatural clock of the Lord Jesus Christ was covering me and his Holy Spirit was right there beside me protecting me.

Jesus saved my life from the wiles of the enemy and witches. He can do the same for you if you choose to believe in him and his power to save.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ in your life, I urge you to please invite him in your life. In these dark and wicked days, only Jesus can protect us from the devil. If you are on your own, without his covering, you will be an easy prey for the devil.

Jesus is patiently waiting for you to invite him in. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow is not promised to any one. Take this chance and accept him and see how he will change and transform your life.

His word says:

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Revelation 3:20-22

The helmet as part of the full armor of God covers the head. The head contains majority of the neurological system of the human body. It is where the brain along with various neurons are found. It is where the mind, conscious and subconscious reside.

Ephesians 6:17-18

Helmet of salvation - Full armor of God
Helmet of salvation – Full armor of God

If for one reason or another a person becomes brain dead though their heart beats, they cannot do much. For example, if a believer is brain dead, they cannot be able to put on their sandals of peace, wield their sword of the spirit, put on their breastplate of righteousness, wear their belt of truth or hold up your shield of faith.

In essence, before you can be able to use any other part of the armor effectively you need salvation. You need to be born again. A believer of Jesus Christ having accepted his gift of salvation.

All humankind has fallen short of the glory of God but Jesus came to offer us salvation and to redeem us from our fallen state.

That is, God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction. 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:22-24

We don’t have to keep living in our sinful, fallen state anymore.
There is redemption for our sins.
Their is salvation.
We can be saved and live if we believe in God’s begotten son Jesus Christ.

If your spiritual armor is to be effective, then you need to put on your helmet of salvation as a priority. Of course every part of the armor is vital as we have seen in this series and each part meshes seamlessly into the other parts.

For example, to receive Salvation, you need Faith. Faith is your shield as part of the armor. So ultimately a believer needs the complete armor to be able to wage against the enemy. Missing a piece of the armor leaves believers vulnerable to the wiles and devices of the enemy.

We are called to be victorious in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Saves!
Jesus is Your Helmet Of Salvation!
Wear him and protect your head and mind!

Belt Of Truth As Part Of The Full Armor Of God – Spiritual Warfare.

Spiritual Warfare.

Belt Of Truth.

Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist.

Ephesians 6:14

Truth is deeper than just being honest. It means being sincere in your intentions and actions too.Telling the truth also takes Humility.Pride does not flow with Truth.

In human anatomy the area from the waist down is a sensitive area.On the human body, this area includes the reproductive parts, organs, thighs and legs.Any damage to our reproductive system can lead to infertility which ultimately leads to un-productivity.

As believers, we need to be productive. We need to multiple.Whether that multiplication includes talents, skills, wealth, families or any endeavors we find ourselves engaging in.Wearing your belt of truth firmly around your waist, will guard your production and even speed of production.

Don’t allow the enemy to bring famine, drought and hunger into your life through lies, dishonesty, pride and untruthfulness. Truth is life giving and there is life stored in your productive parts. We know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy.

View this post on Instagram

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." (Ephesians 6:14) The Apostle Paul compares spiritual armor to the armor of the Roman soldier of this time. He begins by mentioning the truth as our loins girt, what is it? The truth of the word (John 17:17) is our first defensive weapon to destroy every lie of the devil and religion in order to be free from the influence of the thief because every lie you allow in your life gives authority to the father of lies on you. Let the truth set you free in the name of Jesus (John 8: 31-32) #s Wisdom4everyday#wisdomformife#jesuschrist#holyspirit#john#apostle#soldier#truth#lies#beltoftruth#gospel

All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:8-10

If the enemy destroy’s you through untruthfulness, then he restricts and curtails your productivity and multiplication. We also know that the devil is the father of lies and there is no truth in him.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

John 8:42-47

Therefore, if we are to distinguish ourselves and set ourselves apart as children of the light, then we have to train ourselves and learn to live in truth. It’s very important and imperative to. And when we find ourselves having any difficulties in living truthfully, let’s ask Jesus for help to live in truth like he does because Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 14:6

Truth Is Life. Jesus Is Truth.

Especially considering the middle east conflict and the spiritual significance of events going on there.

Everyone in the world is speaking peace but the truth of the matter is that the world and everything in it can not give us peace.
In fact Jesus must have astonished his listeners when he told them that he had not come to bring peace but a sword.

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

Matthew 10:34-36

Kind of surprising since he is the Prince of Peace, right? Actually it is not surprising because in another passage Jesus promises to give his followers peace. The kind of peace the world can never give anyone. The kind of peace that cannot be negotiated, bought or sold. Only he as the prince of peace has the ability to give it.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

And he is also that gospel of peace. When we preach Jesus to the world, we are in essence offering them Peace through the the Prince of peace. It is the same with the Beatitudes when Jesus speaks of the peacemakers. If we are peacemakers, we shall not only be blessed but we shall also be called son’s of God. How amazing is that?

Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:9

Let us always be ready to give people peace when they are faced with chaos, uncertainty, war and instability. Let’s give people Jesus, wherever and whenever we find them. The world is in desperate need of real peace. Let’s therefore put on our sandals of peace: run, sprint, jog, walk to give the world the Prince of Peace.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Shield Of Faith.

In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Ephesians 6:16.

Faith, Jesus once said even the size of a mustard seed can move a mulberry tree and I strongly believe this.

“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,” the Lord said, “you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

Luke 17:6

Apostle Paul also wrote that without Faith, we cannot please God:

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

The devil is always throwing darts and arrows at believers. In fact, that is why the verse in Ephesians 6:16 says you need to have your shield of faith in every situation. You can never ever leave your shield of Faith behind. Never! Doesn’t matter what situation of life you find yourself in. Good, bad, sad, happy, sick, healthy, rich, poor.

In every situation, you have to have your shield of Faith.
The devil found Job in a rich, happy state when he started attacking him and he didn’t stop there. He carried on throwing flaming arrows at him even after he had lost everything.

However tough the situation you find yourself in, however dire the circumstances, however tempting to throw your hands in the air and start calling God a liar and feeling like quitting, I urge you, I beseech you to never lose your faith.

Because the moment you lose your Faith in Jesus, you have lost the battle and war. See, it’s Jesus who gives us victory during this war. Yes, we are soldiers but he is the commander in chief. We take directions from him. He leads and we follow.

So, if you lose faith in your commander in chief, you have inadvertently surrendered to the enemy and joined the other camp.
See, in this spiritual battle, there are only two sides.
Good and Evil. God and the Devil. There is no middle ground.

You either have full trust and Faith in Jesus or you don’t have faith in him. There is no gray, murky shady area.

I pray you take your faith seriously. I pray you always have your shield with you. So that when the devil comes with lies, slander, gossip, accusations, sickness, poverty, loss, grief, betrayal etc, you can quench and extinguish all his arrows so that nothing happens to you and you grow stronger in your faith and move from glory to glory.

Let’s Live Victoriously In Jesus. Take Your Shield Of Faith Every Where You Go.

The Spiritual Darkness Of Black Panther And Why Believers And Followers Of Jesus Should Not Watch It

The Spiritual Darkness Of Black Panther And Why Believers And Followers Of Jesus Should Not Watch It Blog Post Banner Image

The spiritual darkness of Black Panther and why believers and followers of Jesus should not watch it.

Black Panther: The Afro-futuristic Modern Movie everyone is raving and waving about.

The pressure, adverts and promotions to watch the movie is escalating with various positive and brilliant reviews from all quarters. Black Panther is breaking world records, stunning and delighting movie goers.

Forbes has this to say about the Black Panther Movie, “The fact that Black Panther has gone toe-to-toe with mega-blockbusters like The Last Jedi and Jurassic World is even more impressive considering that, despite existing within the MCU, it’s still the first in its series.”

Ryan Coogler‘s masterful superhero drama is unlike any other, featuring outstanding acting, breathtaking art direction, fascinating royal intrigue, memorable action sequences, and surprising depth. It’s that depth — of character, of storyline, of relevancy — that makes Black Panther shine. Writes Sandie Angulo Chen of Common Sense Media.

Despite such glorious reviews, I will however not be one of those watching Black Panther. I’m an ordinary woman who loves Jesus and not a celebrity so you don’t have to take what I write seriously but before you stop reading, I beg you to at least give me the chance to tell you why I feel strongly that believers in Jesus like me should resist the temptation to watch this Movie.

Even the name itself is telling. Black Panther is the name given to supposed black colored big Cats like Leopards and Jaguars but there is a disturbing way, I can’t stop thinking of serpents every time someone mentions this movie. Maybe because it makes me think of Leopard snakes which remind me of folks who breed snakes for leisure and the recent drama in Nigeria where a snake is purported to have eaten 36 Million Naira which is about 99, 000 US Dollars from an office building.

But I’m digressing, so back to Black Panther the Movie:

There is the nagging thought that there was once a far left political party called Black Panther Party, founded in 1966 in Oakland, California USA by Bobby Seale and Huey Newton whose ideologies were Communism, Anti-fascism, Anti-imperialism, Marxism-Leninism, Revolutionary Socialism.

As if to confirm my suspicions, further reading of Sandie Angulo’s review of the Movie reveals two interesting facts.

a. One of the Characters in the supposed fictional movie visits Oakland, California where the Black Panther party was founded. Oh what a coincidence right? Unfortunately I don’t believe in coincidences.

“After a folktale-like prologue that recounts the history of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, BLACK PANTHER opens with a flashback to 1992, when a younger T’Chaka (Atandwa Kani) makes a surprise visit to Oakland, California, to confront a rogue Wakandan spy. Back in the present, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is preparing for his coronation day, which includes a potential challenge — through ritual combat — from any of Wakanda’s five tribes, as well as a sacred ceremony in which he officially becomes the nation’s Black Panther” Sandie Angulo Chen

b. Ritual combat? Sacred Ceremonies? What kind of rituals and sacred ceremonies are these? Do they align with the Bible? Are they Holy ceremonies or is the movie just trying to take us back to ancient and ancestral spirits and dangerous gods and goddesses?

I don’t think these ritual ceremonies are pleasing to God as he is particular and takes idolatry very seriously. Despite what the Liberal media is hiding in plain sight and refusing to say openly, this movie is very spiritual. And it aligns strongly with the dark forces.

15 “Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

16 lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure: the likeness of male or female,

17 the likeness of any animal that is on the earth or the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air,

18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground or the likeness of any fish that is in the water beneath the earth. 19 And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.

Deuteronomy 4:15-19

“The cultural critic Mark Dery galvanized a generation of artists and intellectuals when he argued during the 1990s that African-Americans whose histories had been obscured by slavery and racism were in danger of being written out of the future as well — unless they engaged the areas of art, literature and technology through which that future was being envisioned.” The New York Times writes about the Black Panther Movie.

I disagree with the New York Times. I think if we continue with these kind of exaggerations we are in danger of becoming Hypocrites. As Africans keep dwelling on their slavery and refusing to focus on anyone else except their plight, they are in danger of turning racist if they haven’t already.

For 430 years, the Jews were slaves in Egypt which is found in the African continent but seldom do you hear Jews complain and dwell on those horrific years of oppression and hard labor in Africa. Instead they choose to honor their God and celebrate their deliverance from slavery. But not Africans. Africans despite being freed from slavery are still finding ways to play Martyr.

40 The time that the Israelites lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 At the end of 430 years, on that same day, all the Lord’s divisions went out from the land of Egypt. 42 It was a night of vigil in honor of the Lord, because He would bring them out of the land of Egypt. This same night is in honor of the Lord, a night vigil for all the Israelites throughout their generations. Exodus 12:40-42

Marvel Studios has certainly done a lot of work to out do their competitors as we see with the High grossing figures but there is something very telling about the dark origins of the Black Panther as revealed by Time in this statement.

“After the Obama era, perhaps none of this should feel groundbreaking. But it does. In the midst of a regressive cultural and political moment fueled in part by the white-nativist movement, the very existence of Black Panther feels like resistance. Its themes challenge institutional bias, its characters take unsubtle digs at oppressors, and its narrative includes prismatic perspectives on black life and tradition. The fact that Black Panther is excellent only helps.”  Time

Oh! So it’s a rebellion after all. I thought this was all just entertainment, laughter and Popcorn.

And a resistance? Are they using a movie to stage a coup of sorts?

I guess what the dark forces need to realize is that Rebellion is as the sin of Divination and Witchcraft. It’s this sin among others that got Saul rejected as King. Are they thus subtly telling us they are encouraging rebellion, divination, witchcraft and idolatry with this movie?

23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,

He has rejected you as king. 1 Samuel 15:23

However the cherry for me was this Interview by Gal-dem titled: “Black Panther and Re-Imagining Africa: An Interview with Lupita And Danai. Lupita’s word were very eye opening and telling about the real motives behind this movie and why everyone is being encouraged to go watch it.

“Women in positions of power, it’s just demystifying a whole lot of things that is really going to change the way children see themselves, in the back of their heads, it doesn’t have to be a direct effect, but it’s the reconditioning of the subconscious mind and that’s where real change comes.” Lupita Nyong’o

1. So the dark forces want to recondition the minds of children at an early age? They want to fill their young minds with Hollywood, war, violence, indecency, disrespect, fornication, idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, witchcraft etc. Reminds me of the adage of “catch them while they are still young.”

Look how much damage the emergence of Harry Potter did to young minds. Harry Potter caused a major shift in the Spiritual and gave a lot of ammunition to the dark forces. Now, Black Panther promises to do that and even much worse if believers in Jesus stay asleep and refuse to open their eyes.

If you think I’m being too extreme, do a research on the number of drug addicts and what age group they lie in and then align that to the emergence of Harry Potter.

And honestly If this movie depicts a version of the future, with no Jesus in it, then I want no part in it.

I can certainly understand why the Bible encourages believers to train their children in the ways of God as early as possible and to feed them on his laws and word.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

2. “Women in Positions of Power”.

While I believe in the special role women play, their abilities, power and the amazing things they are capable of, (I explore some of these themes in my series on Scandalous women in the Bible), I feel like Lupita’s words are speaking of a non-biblical kind of power and energy. The negative, radical, demonic kind of female power and energy that Feminism is advocating and pushing to destroy families.

“Everything you see in this film is deliberate and it’s taken from actual cultures around the continent and so this is a showcasing of those and paying homage to that culture and celebrating it, we’re seeing it in the drawing of beauty and wealth.” Lupita Nyong’o

a. Everything is deliberate and intentional. Of course it is. Do the dark forces ever do anything ignorantly?

In fact truth is most believers are lazy and so they live in ignorance and forsake knowledge. But this is not so with the dark forces. The dark forces feed on knowledge. That is how the devil tried tempting Jesus in the wilderness. By using knowledge of the word. That is how Lucifer was able to accuse Job in front of God and ask God for permission to torture Job.

It’s high time believers started real knowledge and they stop wasting time living ignorantly. Hosea 4;6 comes to mind.

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6

b. Her statement saying it’s deliberate just screams Informed Spiritual consent and Implied Spiritual consent. They want to control your mind. It’s an agenda they are pushing but they still need your permission and money to push that agenda. How convenient.

Breastplate of righteousness as part of the full armor of God – Spiritual warfare.

Spiritual Warfare:

The Breast Plate Of Righteousness

What is the importance of the Breastplate of Righteousness as one of the components of the whole armor of God?

The breastplate of righteousness is the part of the full armor of God that guards and protects your heart and soul from dangerous manipulations that the enemy tries to implant.

I’m sure some of you have met situations and people who try to manipulate you by using your emotions to try and make you stumble in your spiritual walk.

Righteousness gives you confidence when the enemy tries to carry out a smear campaign against your character which you know is secured in Jesus Christ.

When you sense the devil tempting you to throw away everything you know about Jesus and to start worrying because things seem to be getting worse instead of better, putting on your breastplate of righteousness is what helps you not to worry. Because you remember that life is about seasons. The seeds of good and righteousness you sow today will reap a plentiful harvest in future.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 6:33-34

So, despite all the manipulations of the enemy to deter you from running your race of Faith, you persevere and hold onto trusting that Jesus knows best. Jesus will always know best.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness

Ephesians 6:14

You’re Gonna Be Ok Lyrics

I know it’s all you’ve got to just, be strong
And it’s a fight just to keep it together, together
I know you think, that you are too far gone
But hope is never lost
Hope is never lost

.

Hold on, don’t let go
Hold on, don’t let go

.
Just take, one step, closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You’ll, get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
You’re gonna be ok

.
I know your heart is heavy from those nights
Just remember that you’re a fighter, a fighter
You never know just what tomorrow holds
And you’re stronger than you know
Stronger than you know

.
Hold on, don’t let go
Hold on, don’t let go

.
Just take, one step, closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You’ll, get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
One step, closer
Put one foot in front of the other
You’ll, get through this
Just follow the light in the darkness
You’re gonna be ok

.
And when the night, is closing in
Don’t give up and don’t give in
This won’t last, it’s not the end, it’s not the end
You’re gonna be ok
When the night, is closing in
Don’t give up and don’t give in
This won’t last, it’s not the end, it’s not the end
You’re gonna be ok

Please wear your breastplate of righteousness and let no enemy manipulate you into taking it off.

Sword Of The Spirit – The Word Of God As Part Of The Full Armor Of God – Spiritual Warfare.

Spiritual Warfare:

Sword Of The Spirit |The Word Of God.

In our spiritual warfare against the powers of darkness, we have to come against the schemes of the devil and his agents using the word of God. It is therefore important that as a believer you read your Bible, memorize scripture so that you can able to speak the word of God when the enemy tries to tempt you or lead you astray.

The word of God is also very important for encouragement, edification and inspiration. It is daily bread that replenishes our souls, minds, spirits and heart when we grow weary.

The word of God also helps us know about God so that we can worship him in spirit in truth.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Ephesians 6:17

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Hebrews 4:12-13

He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.

Revelation 1:16

But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

Luke 4:4

Get your sword and go defeat the enemy.

The Full Armor Of God For Battle Against Enemies Points To This One Man – Spiritual Warfare.

Unfortunately many people don’t know that we are in a war every second of every day.  Many people are oblivious to the forces battling around them. This is no ordinary war. It’s a ferociously dangerous war for the souls, minds, hearts and spirits of men.

And it’s a war that has been raging from the dawn of mankind. Some believers erroneously believe they have no enemy. Some who know they have an enemy think the enemy they are fighting is weak.

Well, the enemies we fight are not weak. They are powerful. But as believers in Jesus Christ we take strength and power in the knowledge that Jesus conquered the devil.

Jesus gave us authority over satan and his agents.

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Luke 10:18-20

But that authority and power is useless if we don’t engage and use it. We have to know who we are in Christ and to take up our rightful places of dominion.

The full armor of God Apostle Paul wrote about in Ephesians 6:10-18 has been the subject of many sermons. And the components of the armor need to be known by every believer. When I personally think of the Armor of God, it points me to one man.

The Man Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Every piece of Armor speaks of Jesus and his preeminence. So every time I put on my Armor I know I’m wearing Jesus Christ from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet.

Let me illustrate:

Truth like a belt around your waist.

Jesus is the Truth.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 14:6

Righteousness like armor on your chest.

Jesus is our Righteousness.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption

1 Corinthians 1:30

Feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Shield of faith.

Jesus the source and perfecter of our faith.

Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.

Hebrews 12:2

Helmet of salvation.

Jesus our Salvation.

After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him, 10 and He was declared by God a high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 5:9-10

Sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word.

Jesus the Word.

The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil.  12 For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.  13 This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day,  and having prepared everything, to take your stand. 14 Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, 15 and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. 16 In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Take Up Your Armor and Let Us Rush Into Battle Certain Of Victory In Jesus’s Name.

Facing Persecution With Courage And Confidence – Boldness, Grace And Grit To Stand – Spiritual Warfare.

Sometimes it’s tough to stand against popular trends and say NO.

Sometimes its hard to tell people the truth about their actions with no fear.
Sometimes its exhausting to refuse to let go of your values against the pressures.

Sometimes it’s difficult to resit the urge of the shinny knowledge and mystic of New Age.

Sometimes it’s taxing to resit the appeal of universalism, one world religion and other fancy ideas.

They will label you
They will pile abuses
They will exclude you
They will lie about you
They will try to break you
They will try to change you
They will throw stones at you
They will slander your reputation
They will insult you and your God
They will call you unsavory names
They will spread falsehoods against
They will tarnish and garnish your name

They will beat your confidence and self esteem

They will accuse you of wrongs you never committed

You will lose family
You will lose friends
You will lose opportunities
You will lose relationships
You will lose a lot,  count on it

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Mark 13:12-13

In fact it’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN some of these things will come your way. Following the way of Jesus Christ, following the way of the cross is not easy. Jesus never said it would be easy. But he promised to be with us through it all.

Sometimes it will feel like life is passing you by.
Sometimes it will feel like Jesus short-changed you about what the Christian walk is all about.
Sometimes you will even question your decision to follow Christ.

Somedays will cold

Somedays will be lonely

Somedays will be painful

Somedays will be difficult

Somedays will be exhausting

But when you face  these kinds of situations and circumstances;

When you feel sad,

When you feel weak,

When you feel broken,

When your faith is faltering,

When your hope is flying low,

When your love stores are dry,

When you feel you can’t possibly go on,

Please I beseech you in such moments to choose praise and worship!

Yes rejoice!
Be joyful! Be Happy!

Like the Apostle Paul gladly boast and say,

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And like the Apostle James goes on to add:

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 1:2-4

Lest, we so easily forget that the Man we love and chose to follow, the Man himself: Jesus Christ of Nazareth endured much much worse.

He was born in a manager,

He was rejected by his own people

He didn’t always have a roof over his head

He was persecuted and vilified by the Pharisees

He was insulted, abused and slandered by the world

He was mocked and ridiculed by the Pharisees and Saduccees

He was beaten and wounded and nailed to a cross for our salvation

And before he left this world, he told his followers that they would face similar perils from the world.

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.

John 15:18-21

So take heart! Pick courage! Don’t dare quit! Don’t dare lose your faith which is very precious! Hold onto Hope! Jesus is alive and he got you! Jesus conquered this world with all it’s pain, suffering and persecution. Yes! The King of Kings has his people! You are not alone!

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.

Psalms 45:7

Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Hebrews 12:12-13

So go ahead like the Victor in Christ you are.

Get up if you are down.

Stand up if you are sitting.

Walk if you are standing.

Jog if you are walking.

Sprint if you are jogging.

Fly if you are sprinting!

And remember always that:

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4:6
